id say Denard is a favorite until he faces the big ten conference schedule and he is exposed yet again as an overrated QB when he has to face legit defenses

This. Why do we go through this every year?

Sorry. Couldn't even make it through that with a straight face.

I think he will have a better shot than people are giving him credit for. He is very similar to Denard IMHO. People talk more about Denard because he has consistently had better WRs and OL thus making him look better.

People are going to hate when someone spots a name like that out. What would you have said if I said Robert Griffin III before last season..?

He'll actually have a worse season, but will start near the top of everyone's lists instead of nowhere near them like last year. A big part of this is name recognition *cough* Luck *cough*

How many Heisman trophies did Andrew Luck win again?

D'Anthony Thomas

When he is a Junior it wouldnt shock me if he got invited to NY

It would shock me. Not because he's not a tremendous player but because he's a jack of all trades guy and won't put up dominant numbers running or receiving, he'll split between the two. Barner will get a lot of carries this year and Tyner will most likely next year taking away opportunities for Thomas.

my top10 hiesman going into next season
#1 Barkley
#2 Monte Ball
#3 Denard
#4 Aaron Murray
#5 Geno Smith
#6 Landry Jones
#7 Keith Price
#8 Robert Woods
#9 Marcus Lattimore
#10 Tajh Boyd

Landry Jones won't be in the discussion because of Blake Bell. Hard to be the most outstanding player in the country when you're not on the field in the red zone. I agree with Barkley being #1, he has the talent, team, numbers, and media hype to push him over the top if it's a close race.

Yup, just like OSU was going to stop him last year.

My memory is a bit hazy, what did he do that game?

hey he had a great game last year vs Ohio State last year, ill give him that... Him and Braxton put on a great show. If Braxton doesnt barely over throw a couple passes, he has a better game then Denard but thats not the point lol

i didnt say he would get exposed by OSUs defense, i said big ten defenses.

OSU is a big ten defense is it not?

OSU is a "legit defense" that was supposed to stop him last year was it not?

Ditto for Nebraska.

Honestly if anyone thought that Ohio State was up to their normal level of defense by the last game of the year they were delusional. I didn't even think our defense would stop him, maybe contain him enough if or offense got going we could win, but I didn't even expect that, but we did still almost win.

This year sets up nicely for Denard to have a huge year. Outside of Alabama, Michigan State, and hopefully Ohio State, I don't see any teams with the ability to really stop give Denard a challenge. I think Alabama will shut him down, Michigan State I think he won't have a great or horrible game, just a game, and Ohio State, well it really depends on how the pass rushers and linebackers play this year. If the other DE's improve enough that Simon can move back inside with Hankins and our linebackers outside of Shazier actually play well, then it should be a very tough defense for him.

That's not what you and the rest of the Buckeye fans said last year.

And did you just imply that OSU fans were/are delusional?

Buno already proved he was wrong.

We go through it every year because for both years that Denard has started at QB, he has garnered Heisman consideration and deservedly so.

Provided he stays healthy, he will garner consideration again this year.

Not to mention he is helped in the race in several areas (i.e. Major school/conference, Plays QB, nationally known name, exciting player, will have plenty of opportunities to be seen by a national audience and plenty of opportunities to have a "Heisman moment").

As per usual, Haters gonna hate.

Robert Griffin showed the ability to throw the ball with a modicum of accuracy prior to last season.

Trust me. I love my Huskers. Martinez is a hell of an athlete, but there's a reason virtually nobody recruited him as a QB.

Alright. Avoided the question, but it's all good I'm not too worried if others like the same players I do. I actually couldn't care less.

It'd be awesome if Knile came back and challenged for the Heisman, but it's probably not gonna happen because he won't get enough carries. They're not going to overwork him coming off an injury, especially with the way Dennis Johnson played coming back from injury last year. If any Hog gets a shot at the Heisman, it's probably Tyler Wilson. Not that it matters, since the Heisman is a joke anyway.

He's a great playmaker just not a Heisman type talent. Virginia Tech game kind of supports that.
