Only things I want next year are a premier WR, DT or franchise QB. Any of those I would be happy. Maybe childs and ponder fill two of those needs, so its looking like DT is probably the top need at this point since there really isnt anyone with potential at that position who can be an elite starter. Guion, Evans and Ballard are simply rotational players in my mind.
I will be upset if MN has a top 10 pick and the top WR again happens to be a 6-1 WR. |

How do you view the DT/WR class of 2013, when compared to this year's? _________________

Not trying to be pessimistic about this season, but I think we'll be picking between 4-8. Even if we're fortunate to get some good future starting rookies on our roster from this draft, they will need time and playing time.
Round 1 my preference is:
a) QB (picking top 2)
b) DT (picking 3-7)
c) LB (picking 4-7)
Round 2 my preference is:
a) WR
b) LB
Round 3 my preference is:
a) LB
b) OG
Bold represents my "ideal" positions drafted if the prospect value is available at pick selection _________________

Depending on who declares, this will be one of the better WR classes to come around in awhile. Every WR I have in my top five will battle to go in the Top 10, with Justin Hunter and Robert Woods being locks. In comparison, this class has more star power than the 09 draft depending on who comes out. I count at least four true #1 WRs in the first round, at least for now.
As for the DTs, unlike last year this class isn't very deep but there are three studs at the top. Star Lotolelei is one of the stars of the draft and should be a Top 5 pick. Then Kwame Geathers from Georgia could also push for the Top 10 at a monsterous but nimble 6'6, 350. Lastly, there is Kawann Short out of Purdue who will be top 15 pick. Outside of those, guys I don't see anymore day 1 starters. Its a thin class but the top could rival the 2010 class that included Suh, McCoy, and Alualu going in the Top 10 picks. _________________

Kawann Short is someone i like a lot who would be a great fit for the Vikes defense. Short is probably a 1st to 2nd round pick if i had to guess right now, though so much will change of course. Where was Fletcher Cox ranked at this time last year? Im sure a good chunk of the top 15 picks next year are largely unknowns at this point of the year.
Give me a big, tall and fast WR, or a disruptive beast of a DT. |

DT is a premium position for a 4-3 team.
It would be hard for me to pass up Star Lotolelei if he is on the board when the vikings pick. Yes, I would take a potential star DT over a potential star WR with a top 10 pick in 2013. _________________

| Quote: | | The Vikings are the worst team in the aforementioned 2012 NFL Power Rankings, but only because Adrian Peterson's status is unknown. If he plays well and is healthy, there's no way Minnesota will finish with the worst record |
I think that is kind of telling, it is more that Barkley is consensus #1 of the draft, and because he doesn't know how Peterson is going to be. _________________ Gnat's Movie Reviews

The 3 WR's that I want are,
#1 Justin Hunter (Tennessee)
#2 Keenan Allen (California)
#3 Robert Woods (Southern Cal) _________________

I would love to see a stud DT in the 1st if Guion doesn't show something great.
I would say give Wright/Childs a year or two to show something. |

Yeah, those mock drafts are legit awful.
Why waste your time making one if your not going make it anything special?
This guy probably just went off LAST YEARS projections and made his list. The only reason people expect us to be in the top 3 again Imo is mainly because we went 3-13 last year. Yet, we could've won atleast 5 more games last year, bringing us to 8-8, on a roster with clear weaknesses at many positions.
I just can't see this team finishing below 6-10 imo. I'm saying 8-8, and thats considering everything we've done this offseason. _________________

I can't take any mock that puts the Vikings at #1 overall seriously. If EVER there was a time for the Vikings to go #1 overall, it was last year. Yet even last year we managed to scrape 3 wins, and narrowly lose several other games. Even if you leave out the QB situation, this has made moves to strengthen every area of the team. There is no way in hell we are not winning at least 3 games next year, even if both Webb and Ponder bomb. _________________

Regardless of how Guion plays, MN has to replace Kevin Williams who may be playing his last season as a Viking.
an elite big man in the middle is the key to a great defense. |

I think this is a 3 - 6 win team.
Its not going to fall in #1 selection spot. _________________

| Wow, Florida players sighted! Out of curiousity, Lil Uno, will you update these periodically throughout the season, or just in next year's post season? |
