The 2012 draft is in the books and I'm ready to get started on 2013. I have learned via trial and error and I am certain 2013 will go much better. I have an all knew rating system, more in-depth analysis, and more new features to put into this database. The Vikings forum is a great place during draft season due to informed debates, unique views, etc. I'm looking forward to keeping that atmosphere alive.

1. Tyler Wilson/QB/Arkansas

Size: 6'3, 220
Ideal Scheme: Vertical
Projected Round: Top 5 Pick
Similar To: Jay Cutler/QB/Bears
Wilson vs. Mississippi State

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:

VIKING BREAKDOWN:

2. Matt Barkley/QB/USC

Size: 6'2, 230
Ideal Scheme: West Coast Offense
Projected Round: Top 10 Pick
Similar To: Tony Romo/QB/Cowboys
Barkley vs. Cal
Barkley vs. Oregon
Barkley vs. Notre Dame

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:
Footwork: 4
Accuracy: 4
Arm Strength: 3
Mobility: 3
Pocket Presence: 3
Experience: 5
NFL Ready: 5
Character: 5

VIKING BREAKDOWN:
Matt Barkley is a NFL ready, All-pro caliber quarterback who hasn't really shown the ability to rally a team consistently in critical situations. He possesses an average arm, build, and accuracy. However, Barkley scores off the charts in terms of awareness. Barkley has outstanding field vision and instincts for a QB. Matt also has a tremendous understanding of the game and has been very teachable to this point. While Barkley won't wow anyone physically, he has the intangibles to command and NFL offense. He will have to prove that he can play when it matters in order to take to the next step.

3. Geno Smith/QB/West Virginia*

Size: 6'3, 210
Ideal Scheme: Spread
Projected Round: Top 25 Pick
Similar To: Robert Griffin/QB/Redskins
Smith Sophomore Highlights

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:

VIKING BREAKDOWN:

4. Zac Dysert/QB/Miami (OH)

Size: 6'4, 230
Ideal Scheme: Vertical
Projected Round: 2nd Round Pick
Similar To: Carson Palmer/QB/Bengals
Dysert vs. Ohio State

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:
Footwork: 3
Accuracy: 4
Arm Strength: 4
Mobility: 3
Pocket Presence: 2
Experience: 4
NFL Ready: 3
Character: 4

VIKING BREAKDOWN:
The first thing you notice when watching Dysert is his overall poise and pocket presence. He possesses a strong arm with tremendous accuracy. Standing at 6'4 230, Dysert has the prototypical NFL size and his tough to bring down in the pocket. His biggest concern is inefficiency. His receivers do little to help him out, so he tends to force throws to make something happen. Leading to a high INT, low TD total. Dysert must work on his pocket presence as well as he has taken way too many sacks at the collegiate level.

5. Tyler Bray/QB/Tennessee*

Size: 6'5, 220
Ideal Scheme: Vertical
Projected Round: 2nd Round Pick
Similar To: Phillip Rivers/QB/Chargers
Bray vs. Cincinatti

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:

VIKING BREAKDOWN:

6. Aaron Murray/QB/Georgia*
7. Landry Jones/QB/Oklahoma
8. Mike Glennon/QB/N.C. State
9. Casey Pachall/QB/TCU*
10. E.J. Manuel/QB/Florida State
11. Zach Mettenberger/QB/LSU*
12. Keith Price/QB/Washington*
13. Ryan Nassib/QB/Syracuse
14. Derek Carr/QB/Fresno State*
15. Jordan Rodgers/QB/Vanderbilt

1. Marcus Lattimore/HB/South Carolina*

Size: 6'0, 230
Ideal Scheme: Any
Projected Round: Top 10 Pick
Similar To: Steven Jackson/HB/Rams
Lattimore vs. East Carolina

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:
Elusive: 3
Power: 5
Speed: 4
Blocking: 3
Patience: 5
Explosion: 4
Catching: 4

VIKING BREAKDOWN:
Lattimore is a powerback in the mold of Steven Jackson. He is strong and tough to bring down, breaking arm tackles with ease. He is a decisive runner who quickly hits the hole and gets to the second level. What separates Lattimore from other powerbacks is how shifty he is for his size. He can make a put on a move on you to leave a defender in the dust. Marcus is also a solid receiver and average in pass protection. What Lattimore lacks is the second gear to be considered a home-run hitter. Lattimore has Top 5 talent but should come off the board somewhere in the middle of the first.

1. Barkevious Mingo/DE/LSU*

Size: 6'5, 240
Ideal Scheme: 3-4 Linebacker
Projected Round: Top 5 Pick
Similar To: DeMarcus Ware/DE-LB/Cowboys
Mingo vs. Arkansas
Mingo vs. Oregon

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:
Passrush: 5
Run Support: 3
Technique: 4
Strength: 3
Versatility: 5
Speed: 5
Tackling: 3

VIKING BREAKDOWN:
At first glance, its easy to tell that Mingo is a freak. He has elite speed and athleticism for a defensive lineman. He possesses one of the quickest first steps the draft has seen in awhile. The Tigers use everywhere on in the front 7 but he is clearly most effective on the edge. Mingo has to work on his pass rush moves as he tends to run around lineman rather than beat them. He must also bring his run defense up to par, which starts with improving his strength. Mingo has the ability to be dominant pass rush specialist as a rookie with room to become an elite all-around player.

Lotulelei vs. Colorado

ATTRIBUTE SCALE:
Passrush: 5
Run Support: 4
Technique: 3
Strength: 5
Versatility: 5
Speed: 3
Tackling: 2

VIKING BREAKDOWN:
In one word, Lotulelei is disruptive. He causes a lot of disruption at the point of attack and fires through the line with speed to cause havoc. Its near impossible to handle one on one. Lotulelei somtimes looks like Ndamukong Suh in the way he tosses linemen aside. He can push the pocket and cause the offense to change up their gameplan. However, Star won't be able to toss around NFL lineman so he will have to develop better technique. Also, he must learn to finish plays. Star has troubles finding the ball once he breaks down the pocket. He leaves a lot of plays on the field. Star will have to bring it all together to enter the Top 3 picks.

Logan Thomas is going to be a pretty good prospect. He started off "raw" early in the season, but by the end of the season his development was off the charts. He has a terrific arm and great athleticism, and seems to make good decisions.

I'm not saying that the Vikings need a qb...that's yet to be determined...I'm just being a Virginia Tech homer and saying watch out for this kid!!

Lil Uno, You have Robert Woods as your avi. Do you really think he can be an elite player (and I'm assuming you want the Vikings to draft him)?

Does he fit the mold of being a true #1? He's around 6'2 which is solid, but I haven't watched him play.

oh, and I'm calling it right now, Tyler Wilson will be the best QB from that class (down the road).

His size will keep him out of the Top 5 at only 6'1 190 last year. He also doesn't project has a traditonal #1, but he will be a #1 at the next level. He is viewed as a sure thing, which is rare for a WR. Watching Woods, I see a lot of Greg Jennings. He is a very smooth, elite route runner, with clutch hands, and 4.38 speed. He also has the production to match, but again his size and strength will keep him from being a Top 5 pick but he will be an elite player.

I would love Woods for the Vikings. He doesnt have great size yet, but he was only a Sophmore, if he is 6'1 205 thats solid. He reminds me of Reggie Wayne, his route running and hands are phenomanal, I'd like to see him do more damage down the field this year. Last year they didnt want to because they were so young, so they played it close to the chest

If Marcus Lattimore is fully healthy, he is a better HB then Richardson. He was the best back in the country and not running behind a line with 3 top 60 draft picks
