Apparently Jason Peters was using something called a Roll-A-Bout, which a lot of people use instead of crutches. The product broke and he went down, rupturing his Achilles again... needing a second surgery. He's now out indefinitely this year with the future unsure.

Quote:
Peters' career beyond 2012 could also be in jeopardy, although it's difficult to say how much in jeopardy. Peters is 30, but has not had any other major injuries during his career.

He plans on suing the company that makes the Roll-A-Bout product, though.

Bad news...

I'm wondering what the weight limit is on those things. They look pretty sturdy... and I'm certainly not blaming him. But, I could see the company using that as a defense if/when he tries to sue them.

You don't think his body mass was a point of interest when fitting him to a mechanism that would be supporting him and aiding his recovery was being looked for?

You don't hand Jason Peters

one of these

and NOT question the support it would provide and/or possible malfunctions.

Especially the doctors who are in charge of Peters' surgery/rehabilitation, they would make sure it wouldn't be a health risk. And the way they make sure they're butts are safe from lawsuits is to make sure they have the company's guarantee that Jason Peters could use this device.

Well at least we got Bell signed long term. He's not Peters, but he isn't Winston Justice

Unfortunately this looks like it'll be the end of Peters' career.

He put an elephant on pretty much a baby stroller. Obviously you can't do that. What did he expect?

You don't think NFL players get specially made stuff? I doubt he just walked into the store and bought one of these, it was probably all run through the Eagles medical team. Can't really blame Peters.

I'm sure they found out if it was safe before putting their huge investment on the line.

Sucks for Peters, I'd assume we're planning to perhaps move on now. This blows hard
