So he's done playing? That's a shame, but to take a look at it in a positive view, this really opens up opportunities for the youngsters.

yeah thats what it sounds like. I was talking to my buddy and he said he doesnt feel like playing more. Doesnt love the game enough. He said Bellamy moved to Ohio in 8th grade and never played football before. Just was blessed with size and athletic ability. When he signed his LOI he didnt have much knowledge of college football like we do like knowing the big name players that other teams have or colleges are recruiting.
Football was never a love of his and i guess he didnt feel like playing anymore. |
Makes sense then. I remember reading that he was originally a hockey player before he started playing football. He's going into his redshirt junior year not starting, he sees all of the young talent being brought in, and the writing is on the wall basically; he knows he's likely never going to start here again. It's a shame because he's a really solid player, but when you know you're not going to play the game professionally and you don't even love the game to begin with, it really makes no sense to endure the grind of the D-1 CFB player. |

he played in every game of his career (26games) and started 10 of them last year. I say he had a chance to play it professionally. He is 6'4 290+ and been starting at OSU since his sophomore year, he was gonna get a look or a try out.
the question wasnt him getting playing time, it was just him not wanting to play anymore. I could see the incoming talent prolly made it easier for him to quit. That there will be a capable player behind him who can replace him. I maybe could of saw it that if there was no one there he might of stayed so he wouldnt of let everyone down.
My buddy got nervous and thought he got depressed and didnt want to do anything more including football and when he finally got a chance to talk to him he said he is happier now that he isnt playing football. My buddy just wishes he would of talked to him before he quit so he could talk to him into still playing. My buddy was prolly getting excited to go to his draft party lol
my buddy would tell me stories of him going to OSU and playing BP with Mike Adams and other players lol _________________

Yeah, I guess I agree that he had a shot at the next level. Of course, being at Ohio State though definitely increases your exposure (Nate Ebner) and even a rotational guy will be on the NFL's radar, so yeah... a versatile DL like him definitely stood a shot. He'd just had enough I guess.
I know a guy that quit playing D-1 football (Purdue) too and he says he's a lot happier now, so it just depends.
- Theozone.net is saying it's a family issue, and when he works those things out, he'll be welcomed back with open arms. Sounds like he may come back at some point? |

It's easier to say it's family issues incase he decides to rethink playing football and gives him a chance to still make it in the pros if that's the route he wishes to take, than to say that he just didn't feel like playing football again then trying to come back. That would be a big red flag to NFL teams thinking they got another Quinn Pitcock. _________________

hey it can be believable, that Michigan team was stacked and came into the season so hyped up because well they deserved it and they feel on their faces hard and had one disappointing season _________________

I'm really excited for the team this year. We have talent as always. Can't wait to see what Urban does with it. _________________

Few fans are wondering why Nate Ebner never got any snaps (aside from the Akron game where he got 3 snaps on D in garbage time). He has looked spectacular in camp intercepting few passes from Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet.
In the game vs Philly, he was inserted within the 1st team (though most of the actual 1st team D were not playing) and snagged an interception.
Did take two bad angles to the ball carrier but other than that, he looked pretty good.
Some odd reason he reminds me of Polomanu, maybe bc he wears no. 43. |
