Now that the main portion of free agency and the draft is over, what would you say your team's main needs are (with full knowledge that this can change completely after the season starts)

Positions: QB, RB, FB, WR (SWR/DWR), TE, OT, OG, C, DE, DT, OLB (WLB/SLB/34OLB), MLB, CB, FS, SS, P, K, LS, RS

For the Bengals I would put the top 7 needs as: SS, DE, RB, CB, OT, WLB, BQB

Teams that have been Mentioned:

AFC East:

AFC North:
Bengals - Page 1

AFC South:

AFC West:

NFC East:

NFC North:

NFC South:

NFC West:

For the redskins pending my thoughts about this draft and what needs we have left over.

CB - S - ILB - 3-4DE - NT - WR - BTE - RT - C/G - RB.

I would change OT to OG. Even if Andre Smith walks after this season, we have Anthony Collins. At Guard, I don't think Wharton is a long term solution so we could use a LG...

WR, OT, NT, CB, FS, ILB, TE, RB

Going off need, and also factoring in contracts expiring.

Well if the draft picks and Free Agent's play their parts the Titans needs would go.....

1.) Center
2.) FS
3.) RG

Much more slimmer of needs than last year but we did fill alot of needs in FA and the draft. Center could change though bc apparently their is a "open competition" for starting center job. While Amano is out with recovering from injury, I wouldn't be suprised if Kevin Matthews or Fernando Velasco beats him out and truthfully both have looked much better than Amano.

For the Vikings:

1. DT (need a big time pass rusher, game changer type, Kevin Williams may be playing in his last season here, he has a bonus in his contract that takes affect after the season)

2. MLB (Jasper Brinkley and Solomon Elimimian will be given a shot to start with Audie Cole in the mix, i dont see either filling the need)

3. WR (may not be a need if Greg Childs and Jarius Wright step up)

4. CB (I like Chris Cook at LCB, and I love Josh Robinson, I am not sure if Robinson will be more of a nickel or RCB. Winfield may be playing his last year as the Vikes NCB, and you have to have depth at this position in the NFC North)

5. S (Again, this depends on if Mistral Raymond or Robert Blanton step up opposite of starter Harrison Smith)

6. RT (Phil Loadholt is a free agent at years end, and he hasnt be that good anyway. Not a concerning need).

Its really to hard to tell for the Vikings, given that they will be relying on so many young players in starting roles. Reasonably, the needs at S and WR could be filled with the current players if they exceed expectations. I see DT and MLB as the two glaring needs going forward, there isnt any one on the roster who i see filling that need long term.

I obviously didnt list the most glaring need (franchise QB), if Ponder can prove his worth and win games for MN they wont be in position to draft one and the team should feel good about Ponder. If Ponder stinks, and MN gets a top 5-10 pick, QB instantly moves up to need #1.

Rams

OL - LG is currently wide open. It will probably end up being filled by someone better suited in a backup role or some journeyman. Definitely needs upgraded next year. Tackle could be a need depending on how Saffold and Jason Smith play.

OLB - Jo-Lonn Dunbar will start one on side. The other is currently wide open. It will probably be newly acquired Mario Haggan or an inexperienced rookie to start there.

WR - We have drafted two guys the last two years. We still haven't seemed to acquire that number one, go to guy, type receiver. If Brian Quick has a big year he could be that guy.

P - Our starting punter looks to be an undrafted FA who once had a punt go for negative yardage. A lot of us don't feel comfortable with him.

S - I could see it becoming a need. Mikell played well but is 30+ and if Darian Stewart doesn't develop into the player I think he can be. Plus, we lack depth there.

Just a few of our needs.

Packers(as of right now)
1. FS: Burrnett is best suited for SS. We need another cover guy badly. The Collins injury really sucks...
2. DL: Although we drafted 2 DL high(Worthy and Daniels), Pickett will likley be gone next year. You can never have enough good lineman.
3: RB: This could change depending on how much Alex Green shows this year.
4: Interior OL(C/LG): Saturday is up there in age and Lang will be a FA.
5: TE/WR: Insurence for Finley/Jennings as well as the upcoming loss of Driver.

Factoring in things such as age, contracts expiring, and length of contracts after the 2012 season, and assuming draft picks/FA's/young players have stepped up and filled existing needs (mainly on offense at OG, WR, etc)

1: NT- Our starter AND our backup NT are both UFA's after the year. We could still re-sign one or both
2: FS- Dashon Goldson is playing under the franchise tag this year, and likely wants more than what the 49ers are willing to pay. We drafted Trenton Robinson in the 6th round this year and gave CJ Spillman a 3 year extension, but both might profile as backups in the NFL.
2: DE- Justin Smith will have 1 year left on his deal after this season, and turns 34 in Sept. 2013. Perfect time to groom a DE to take over.
4: OLB- Can never have enough pass rushers.
5: ILB- Both our backup ILB's are UFA's after the year, and Bowman will have 1 year left on his deal. Will SF be able to afford two top notch ILB's?
6: TE- Backup TE Delanie Walker's contract is up after the 2012 season.

So, NT, FS, DE, OLB, ILB, TE, in that order. That's just my opinion. The first 2 would be the most pressing if we couldn't get our starters under contract, other than that it's mostly depth and guys who could sit for a year and take over after we let go of expiring deals.

Its hard to pick out the Chargers since its so dependent on how some of your younger guys perform and if they step up or not (Gilchrist/Wright, Cam Thomas, Vincent Brown, Tyronne Green, Luis Vasquez). Who leaves could really be a factor for us as well, since we have both starting CBs, OG's, Malcom Floyd and SP95 are all FA's next year.

But just a tentative list right now...without #1 needs and stuff since its really too early to tell.

CB (We need a true #1, so IMO that means unless we have a shot at Xavier Rhodes, David Ammerson, Jonathan Banks or Dee Milner, we wont see a CB picked for anything more than depth purposes)

NT (Really all depends on Cam Thomas and seeing if he can become our true starting NT, we resigned Garay for depth, continuity on what was basically a 1 year contract)

OLB (We got Ingram who's a solid player in all areas, but we still need that true #1 pass rusher, and since Shaun Phillips may very well be leaving us, I think that we could use that true #1 pass rusher who we can use in every down situations, that can consistently beat NFL LT's. So at this point, i'd look at it only if Okafor, Mingo, Mongomery, Jones, and maybe Porter fall to us, or Dion Jordan or some of the other bigtime potential guys fall to us in the 2nd/3rd rounds)

WR (Not THAT big of a need, but more for depth purposes than anything else. We have Meachem/V. Brown/Royal locked in for 4 years, we could use another big tall receiver though...yeah you never thought you would've heard that coming from a charger fan would you? haha)

RB (Depending on how some of our backs now turn out, we could use a big powerback, if we plan to use McClain as strictly a FB, but he can be a powerback as well, since we do have Hester who's a decent FB as well in power situations)

OG/OT (Clary really should be replaced, but he's not going to absolutely murder our offense, but he can easily be upgraded, and he will be going into his contract year after this draft, with a HEAVILY front weighted contract and hopefully that will mean the end of him for a charger. I think that OG will be a bigger need though, since i'm not sure if we resign both Green and Vasquez, and both have a LOT to prove, though Green played well at the end of last year, C/LT is completely set IMO)

I'll go through the positions one by one

QB - Not a need unless Manning gets a career ender and Brock plays awful.

RB - Depending on the durability of McGahee, we probably will need our workhorse back of the future.

FB - Probably not a need. I doubt we keep a FB on the 53 since Manning prefers a H-Back and we have 4 good tight ends.

WR - I still think we need a possession guy depending on whether Eric Page plays well.

TE - Not a need

OT - Jury's out. I'm assuming Clady will still be a Bronco, but Franklin may move to Guard. I'm gonna be optimistic and say not a priority.

G/C - I doubt we'll need one unless Walton and Beadles both have bad years.

DT - We have Wolfe as our disruptive guy but we really need a NT.

DE - Would like a LE depending on how Ayers plays.

OLB - Set

ILB - Potential need depending on Mays/Irving play in 2012

CB - Not a need

S - Shouldn't be a need.

1. Nose Tackle
2. Running Back
3. Middle Linebacker
4. Right Tackle
5. Left End
6. Depth at all positions

Atlanta Falcons

Likely Needs - Starters
1. Tight End - Definitely addressed; currently only TE's under contract for 2013 are new UDFA's. Gonzalez will retire, so if we don't pick up a FA in a weak class then this will be our round 1 or 2 pick.

2. Running Back - Michael Turner will be 31 with 1500 carries on 5 years on the clock. He will be playing out the last year of his contract at a high price. Likely to be a Round 1-3 pick.

3. Defensive Tackle - Jerry may be cut after 2012. Babineaux will be 31. Peters will be 1 year away from free agency. Another high pick on a defensive tackle makes sense, particularly if Mike Nolan brings in more hybrid looks (our existing guys are all <6'3, <310lbs, so don't fit either 3-4 position). A defensive end is a possibility, but only if we are picking high enough to completely replace Abraham

Likely Needs - Question Marks
4. Offensive Tackle - We have only Tyson Clabo and Lamar Holmes signed past this season. Baker or Svitek could claim the starting or swing tackle jobs, and Holmes could either be a starter or a backup. Ideally, it will be Holmes/Clabo with Svitek as a cheap backup and Bryce Harris developing, but this needs to be listed as we could be looking for a day 1 LT starter.

Likely Needs - Backups
5. Quarterback - Chris Redman is only on a 1 year deal and we have no real potential behind him. A round 4-6 pick on a QB has been mooted for the last two years, but we'll pull the trigger in 2013.

6. Cornerback - Either Robinson or Grimes will be cap casualties, and Chris Owens may not be resigned. Dimitroff frequently uses round 3-5 picks on corners.

7. Wide Receiver - White/Jones/Douglas is set but there is zero depth behind them. While one of our UDFAs may emerge, it is more likely that we'll take a late round slot guy with some speed.

8. Linebacker - Depth will be needed here, primarily for ST

Possible Needs

Safety - If William Moore is not re-signed (unlikely)
Defensive End - If John Abraham shows his age
Kicker - If Matt Bryant falls off

I like what the Bills are putting together right now. i would say our needs going into the season right now seem like this:

1. WR
2. LB
3. TE

Jaguars

QB: Only if Gabbert faulters
RB: Maybe invest in a runningback for the future... likely not in the first round
WR: No immenent need
TE: No immenent need (if Miller is hurt again, then another TE would be needed)
OT: Only if Britton isn't able to bounce back
OG: Only if Rackley faulters
C: Potential future starter... likely not in the first round

DE: Possible depth/insurance
DT: Only if Knighton is not re-signed, but he is likely to be back
LB: No immenent need
CB: Future starter needed across from Cox
Safety: No immenent need

The only huge need, at this moment, is a CB

My personal top 7 right now

1. CB (Round 1+)
2. C (Round 1+)
3. RB (Round 2+)
4. DE (Round 1+)
5. OG (Round 3+)
6. DT (Round 3+)
7. TE (Round 2+)
