it will be nice when we can watch football games, instead of analyze stat projections.

Or instead of make stat predictions in the first place.

This thread is embarrassing... I'm sorry that I opened it back up.

Gents, it's spring . . . or early summer for most of ya. There are things to do in the great outdoors, and none of them relate to pro football.

The only thing relating to the NFL right now is gluing yourself to practices? How'd that guy do in shells? . . . lol.

Whether it's 5 months, 5 days or 5 hours before a game, a number of fans enjoy predicting things about players and the games. A number of others prefer to wait until after a game and then dissect, analyze, praise or rip what happened or who did-this-or-that.

Look back to the past 2-3 months . . . the draft . . . FA . . . predictions and critique . . . preseason games will have the same . . . regular season games will too. It's our nature, as fans . . .

For me personly, I care whether the Vikes right the ship as much as I hated losing in sports myself . . . but not as much as I care about other things in life, like family and Copper and Kenai River salmon runs . . . predicting Ponder's year is was this thread is about . . .

I think the kid helps right the ship.

In an effort to not derail another thread and turn it into another debate about this topic, the posts I'm quoting are not from this thread.

I would. This team is not a contender.

Is this the real reason why you want Webb to start Week 1 over Ponder? You realize that the team is not a contender, and you don't want to rush him back from his hip injury last year?

I had no clue that you were a Christian Ponder fan all along!

Klomp, I suggest you read that again, and think to yourself--am I adding anything here? Or am I being very annoying, with a cutesy second degree ad-hominem. Why on earth would you move a sarcastic retort *here*, instead of the adrian peterson thread where it belongs?

I was just about to type something to the same effect. I'm equally baffled.

shah, seriously...

until you can cure yourself of that disease, don't bother preaching to others about it. it rings hollow coming from you.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

What does one thing have to do with the other?

Has there been any actual news surrounding Ponder?

I was reading a slideshow on a website for Ponder's "To Do List", and one of them said to seek out a veteran QB, namely Drew Brees.

Now if you guys remember, Christian said he really likes Drew Brees, and thats kind of who he wants to model his game after.

Has there been anything saying he's talked to Brees, or anyone this offseason? I think It'd be wise. Even though he has someone like Sage Rosenfels who will help mentor him (both player being Vikings), I think reaching out to an elite QB would really help him tremendously.

Here is that link. I think its a little dated, but the point still stands:

Seriously. I remember reading a report that the Vikings were the worst team in the NFL last year (midseason) and another article about how they could make the playoffs.

You do realize that BR has more than just one writer, right? And that different writers have different opinions?
