NOT THE MOVIE

--------------------------------------------------

Training-camp Expectations Draft

Yes, it's July. The worst month for football of the year...except for january, if your team didn't make the playoffs. We need ish to do, so Imani got you covered with more random ideas that could be really successful.....or tank horribly. So here it is: The Training Camp Expectations Draft. What is it? Let me break it down

The Draft

-Each participating poster will draft X amount of players in X amount of rounds until they have a short roster of players who have chances to play for us this year.

-You are essentially selecting a team of players your already rooting for going into the season, but to make it fair for everyone...these players have to be available to you in the draft. The fun is learning about a player you didn't already know much about if you couldn't draft someone you already knew

-Each roster is designed to be judged (by way of poll vote, head to head) at the end of training camp for: 1) top to bottom Improvement, 2) Potential going into the Season, 3) Overall Talent -- a week before the season starts

-These will also be your selections for our Annual Adopt a Seahawk thread (unless there are major objections) with one player being your poster boy to keep track of all season

-If all goes well, I will set up a fantasy stat tracker throughout the season and have a dope sig set up for the winner (if all goes well). Details on that pending, but stay tuned

Why are we doing this?

"Because it's July, the Seahawks ain't on they job, and you ain't got ish else to do"

--------------------------------------------------------------

**Notes (please read)

-I will set up the draft and round amount based on the amount of participants confirmed

-This is a community thread, so if you have any ideas or changes you want to make, let me know dammit! (and sooner rather then later, best not to derail things already in motion)

-I will post up the roster of available players in a separate thread once things start to kick off. Details for the draft slots and other information will also be included in said thread, as well as the draft itself

-*Important*. If you wanna try it out, but are worried you may not have the time...don't sweat it. Just let me know in advance and i'll help you out if you want. This is my thread, so the bulk of the work and responsibility falls to me. Don't come into this thinking your going to have to do a bunch of extra curricular work and research just to participate, most of us have lives outside of this site (no offense, SoS) and i understand that

-Simply post in this thread in whatever manner to confirm that you want to join, and you'll be added to the list below

-Below you will also see a section for questions. Any questions asked to clarify any rules or information will be answered and then logged in that section as a sort of "FAQ" database for the future

-If anyone wants to help me run this (would really appreciate it) please let me know. I don't know how much time i'll have, but i just can't pass on this idea

-Just join, you know you want to Wink

Questions

I dont get it?

Quote:
So we are drafting seahawks players that are currently on the roster. Your group of drafted players will be voted on as a whole by the rest of the forum for their presence and improvement throughout training camp, at the END of training camp.

The best group wins.

For example:

SoS Drafts Earl Thomas in the first round and Doug Baldwin in the second. Those players would have their progress tracked throughout training camp in both exhibition games and practice reports. Baldwin and Thomas had amazing training camps (hypothetical) so he had the most votes by the rest of the forum for "best group" in head to competition. Your basically picking a seahawks fantasy team for our training camp period

Your drafted players will also count as your "Adopt-a-Hawk" Picks for the season for you to keep track off

If we get enough participation, i will set up a fantasy system through the season where the group you draft, will compete against other posters' groups.

Does any of this make sense?

what is the scoring system going to be like?

That is TBD after training camp, we will vote on how we want to do it. It will likely be a system based on specifics like tackles and catches as well, but nothing is set in stone until then

1. Definitely came into this thread thinking it was going to be about the movie.

2. You and your acronyms Laughing

3. Obviously I'm going to sign up for this.

4. I think you should just keep the draft in this thread. Edit the title when we get to that point to have less clutter.

5. You know I'm drunk when I read the entirety of a post that long.

6. And obviously I'll help you run it if need be. Though, if I were you, I'd prefer Tats to be your assistant considering he can edit all of your posts including his own with his mod powers. That'd be helpful.

Probably because your vocals sound like a mix of Usher and ocean waves hitting a hot Hawaiian beach.
