We can't seem to catch a break. I suppose its a good thing we drafted a DT in the 3rd and a DE/DT in Billy Winn.

I knew we were due. To many things felt good about to me. Plus it's been since Bentley since we had a major guy go down pre season.

Figures

Hopefully it's not torn. Saffold tore his pec last year lifting weights, it's a brutal injury. Would be difficult for Taylor to play this year if it is torn.

Sucks to hear, sorry for Taylor and Browns fans. Bench is overrated for football players anyways.

Another severe injury to a rising star?

These injuries are only fuel to the fire that is "No more Pro Bowl"

Elvis Dumervil tore his pectoral in Training Camp of 2010, and it took him about 4 games in 2011 to fully get over it. Not a nice injury at all.

tearing a pec is far better than a ligament or tendon tear, but it takes a long time to get strength back, as well stability across the pectoral girdle

Don't disagree with the idea of getting rid of the Pro Bowl, but what do any of these injuries have to do with it?

scrap the pro bowl, and just use all pro awards as recognition. saying someone is a probowler is a joke now...matt cassel was a probowler lol.

Players refuse to participate because they're afraid to get injured in the game. The life of an NFL player is very short, they won't risk injury from a meaningless game.

Seeing how easily players are getting injured from trying to keep up with the competition for games that matter just proves that players don't need to play worthless GAMES to begin with, I.E. the Pro Bowl.

That is fair, but I still don't see how this adds fuel to the fire to get rid of the Pro Bowl. If anything, it just proves you have a chance to get injured regardless, and a heck of a lot more people happen to get injured in OTAs than they do in a game where nobody is actually trying. I'd assume going 50% when you run, not bothering to block a single soul, and slowing down in pass coverage is less likely to get you injured than lifting weights, making quick cuts on the field during drills, etc.

I understand what you're saying but I don't think the NFL or anybody is going to actually more of a motivation to get rid of the Pro Bowl just because another player got injured in the offseason. That is going to happen always.

he was one of my candidates for breakout player of the year. although i decided to go with Nick Fairley instead. so between Taylor getting injured and Fairley getting arrested, my predictions are not looking good.

here's to a speedy recovery, the guy has incredible potential and showed some of that potential last year.

Its definitely a tough break for the Browns and he definitely has big potential, but I think people overrate how good he was last year. He definitely made some impressions, but while I thought he was good for a rookie, he wasnt a "beast" as many described him. Sometimes he looked extremely strong and at times I saw him handled quite easily by mediocre lineman, especially in the run game.
