It's a 2-year deal.

Florence was recently released from the Bills because he was due to make $4 million in base salary and the Bills were getting younger at the position after adding CB Aaron Williams in the 2nd round last season and Stephon Gilmore in the first round this season.

Florence recorded 108 tackles, 27 passes defended and 6 INTs the past two seasons.

Very, very solid secondary with Champ Bailey, Tracy Porter, Chris Harris, Mike Adams, and now Drayton Florence... Still a HUGE question mark at the FS position though. Rahim Moore and Quinton Carter will battle it out.

Solid signing. Hopefully we get the Drayton Florence we saw in Buffalo, and not the guy we saw in Jacksonville.

Florence is a meh player. Good depth, slot corner.

Broncos will still be ran all over no presence upfront.

Nice signing. Broncos doing some serious work this off season.

I thought the Chargers would of jumped all over him. I was wrong Confused

I liked Florence when he was here a majority of the time (he had a huge pick in the win against New England, being one of his best plays as a Bill) but there was a reason besides our younger CBs that he was released.

I forget the exact figures, but in many passing plays against us that resulted in either big gains or TDs, Florence was the guy covering the WR. He was responsible for a lot of the plays that we gave up through the air last year. He wasn't going to beat out McGee, Gilmore, and Williams and it's arguable that he would have had a hard time beating out even McKelvin. He was both too much of a liability and too much money.

If he's used sparingly as a backup he could be fine, but don't expect much more out of him.

Seems like a bunch of aging veterans too me. I know the Broncos have the pass rush but I've been hearing how your run D is suspect. If that is true and you need some of your secondary to come up more for run support I suspect teams may beat you guys deep quite a bit this year. You certainly play in a division where that could be a problem.

Florence hasn't been good since San Diego, Denver loading up on average vets in the secondary.

Which is better than below average young players, or any below average player

Or or Raider players... Laughing Notice how both Raider fans just wanna blow it off.....typical even though it helps solidify the Broncos secondary, adds veteran depth

A bunch of aging veterans...? Outside Champ Bailey (who is still a monster) the oldest guy in that group is Florence who is 31. As is Mike Adams. But Chris Harris is going into his 2nd season, and Tracy Porter is 25. Plus our starting SS Quinton Carter is only 23.

Nice post... Also 91May, you look foolish when you judge our secondary, when you have the most embarrassing secondary in the entire league... Laughing

Raiders secondary isn't the most embarrassing secondary in the league.

Laughing Huff and Branch > than area Donkey safety. Rahim Moore, Mike Adams and Quinton Carter? Are you kidding me. Moore is garbage, and Carter is barely an adequate starter and Mike Adams couldn't make the Browns roster.

Somebody looks foolish though, we agree on that point.

Adds veteran depth if nothing else.

Florence may not be the player he was, but still useful.

Pardon my ignorance....... I thought Porter was older. Just to be sure I read the bolded right though, those 3 players are all on the wrong side of 30? I guess I was kind of right then, no?

BTW, I noticed you didn't comment on the rest of my post. Do you agree with what I said about Denvers' defense?
