Lots of ambiguity and "We-are-happy-with-the-WRs-we-have" jargon but it sounds like Holmgren isnt opposed to adding another WR before week 1. I could see us getting Plax to help with the development of Weeds.
I like the WRs we have; G Little is the future no doubt, but I am interested to see who rises up this season with MoMass, Norwood, Cribbs & OKst Alum Cooper. Realistically though, we need guys that can make plays and there is no doubt Plax can score a solid 6 TDs in a season which is a lot more than we can ask out of our current #2 WRs.
Thoughts?

Ya ya I get it but do you think it is a step in the right direction to go after someone who can help a young QB develop? I mean we wouldnt have signed TO or Plax last year with Colt, but could it be a vote of confidence for BW3 and the front office saying, hey we want this kid in a position to succeed? _________________

I agree it's possible we bring in a FA receiver, but I'm not sure Plax is the answer. The Jets aren't exactly stacked at WR, and they let him walk after one year. Plus, the guy is almost 35.
I know I'm missing some names, but I'd rather have one of these guys: Mark Clayton, Patrick Crayton, Mike Sims-Walker, Bernard Berrian, or even Roy Williams or Braylon. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I'd love to bring in Braylon or MSW. _________________

I am not a fan of Braylon coming back, nor would I think HE would be a fan of coming back. Plus MSW is probly looking for a 3 year deal and I am not interested in anything long term, especially for a guy like him.
I think GLittle is a lock and has star potential. I would like our other young WRs develop but I would really like to see us bring in a crafty vet that has something left. I am tired of the David Pattens and Mike Furreys. I would like to see us sign Plax to a 1 year incentive laden contract and then go after a top tier WR in next years draft.
Call me crazy, I personally have given up on MoMass with the lack of production and all of his concussion. And I love him but I dont know if Cribbs can plan a full 16 game schedule. Cooper and Norwood are the same type of reciever and in all honesty, I really like the way Norwood is maturing. And I would give Travis Benjamin a few years to develop both schematically and physically before we can expect anything out of him (his quads are about as big as my neck).
Who knows, maybe a new QB might help our current WRs but call me a little skeptical...

| No thanks. Not interested. Don't see what he brings to the table for us, honestly. He's acting interested because he can't afford to scratch any teams off of his list right now. |

I don't get why so many are against signing him. Cleveland's WRs have potential but I think they could use a veteran. Burress had 45 receptions, 612 yards (13.6 AVG) and 8 touchdowns last year. That was the first year he played since 2008 so he was probably rusty and could improve upon those numbers.
The Browns could sign him to a cheap one-year deal to be a stopgap until Cleveland's other receivers gain more experience. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee

This is what I am saying. We dont need to lock him up, but he has more tread left on those tires than TO and he is more talents than half the FA WRs out there. 1 year deal is all we need. If we can get 6-8 TDs from Plax and 10-12 TD from TRich, that's almost as much as we had in 2011!
Do people realize how terrible our offense was last year? We had 4 rushing TDs and 16 passing TDs in 2011? We scored 20 TDs on offense.. 20...
We need playmakers! _________________

Honestly I really dont think he is that big of a playmaker anymore.
Yes he had a 3 TD game this past year against the chargers but he also only had 4 receptions for 25 yards in that game. at this point in his career I think all he really has going for hi is his height. idt he can really run past many people anymore. while I dont think Mo Mass has been great by any means I dont see Burress doing anyhtign that he cant do. and Buress here is not going to have Santonio Holmes or Keller taking focus off him I mean could he help sure, is he going to make our WR corp that much better than it is right now. _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient
