This was leaked about 10 days ago. There's another thread.

I doubted he was staying. He is frat so I expected him to be here eventually. Clinkscales and Reggie are former college teammates as well. Reggie is surrounding himself with people he trusts. There are supposed to be more updates for the scouting department shortly.

this.

This rumor never went away. Irrc, they are not just frat but LBs (linebrothers) & roommates. This hiring and his brother, McKenzie is obviously surrounding himself with like minded people.

Per Schefter

"Raiders gave former Jets VP of college scouting Joey Clinkscales the title of Director of Personnel, overseeing pro and college operations."

Wonder what Herock will be doing then.

Report: Raiders hire Herock as college scouting director

Iirc, the Director of personnel and the director of college scouting are usually equal. In this case Mckenzie has expanded Clinks powers.

Thanks, frat!

I like the complete retooling of the front office. Out with the old, out dated and ineffective, and in with fresh and up to date staff.

Also he didnt completley gut it like some indicated. He changed the guys at the top and kept the guys who have been onboard the last few years which imo we have done fairly well during that span with personel guys.

Exactly, since 2008 imo we did a decent job in the draft, especially considering the picks we had.

2008: 1/4/4/6/7
1. DMC
4. Branch
6. Scott
7. Schilens

2009: 1/2/3/4/4/6/6
1. Heyward Bey
2. Mitchell
3. Shaughnessy
4. Murphy
6. Myers

2010: 1/2/3/4/5/5/6/7/7
1. McClain
2. Houston
3. Veldheer
5. Ford
6. Goethel

2011: 2/3/3/4/4/5/6/7
2. Wiz
5. Moore

rest to early to tell:
3. van Dyke
3. Barksdale
4. Chekwa
4. Jones
6. Gordon
7. Ausberry

We had 3 1st round picks and 3 2nd round picks. I don't like the mitchell pick, and McClain hasn't done much (which is actually ironic since he was the one 'safe' first round pick we made). DMC, DHB, Houston and Wiz have turned into good picks. In the later rounds we did good business, finding Moore, Veldheer, Branch, Shaughnessy, Ford as good players, and good depth in guys like scott, murphy, myers, schilensz, etc.

Even more ironic is all our supposed safe picks have "busted". Napoleon Harris was the best LB in his draft class. Robert Gallery was the next great LT according to every expert. Michael Huff was an Ed Reed type.

On the other hand, Nnamdi Asomugha and DHB were huge reaches according to the same experts.
