But Soccer is a worldwide sport, only reason it's not popular in the US is because Americans are terrible at it. Laughing It's a wonderful sport that teaches patience and team work something americans are just bad at.

It's why every time u see team work, it get's overblown as an amazing characteristic.

Our best athletes play football, baseball, and basketball.

Imagine if guys like Adrian Peterson grew up playing soccer and aspiring to play on the U.S. national team. Now imagine the entire NFL, MLB, and NBA doing that.

Most other nations are good at soccer because that's all they have.

Agreed Crying or Very sad

You don't have to be a freak athlete to be good at Soccer. Messi is what 5'5? Imagine him playing football Laughing

Just go to any typical American high school with the major sports and it's very clear.

Best athletes played football. When it wasn't football season guys who were good at basketball played basketball. Others wrestled in the winter.

In spring if you were good at baseball you played baseball. If you weren't, you join track.

But in the summer football is King, and only the skinny kids who couldn't take a hit played soccer.

Wow. To each their own I guess.

I bet if Kobe were a life time 6er, he'd get a lot more love in here.

I find it funny though that the Canadian selected after Kobe has the same amount of MVPs as Kobe and AI combined Laughing

Kobe has two Finals MVPs (without Shaq btw) while Nash has none, and those awards mean more than regular season MVPs. Just ask LeBron about that.

To be fair, it's a team sport. No one can carry a team to victory.

So is football, yet individual players get singled out all the time for a team's failure.

I'm not a huge Basket fan, but Cleveland won, not because of the Team, but because of LeBron, Miami is not the same, because they actually have some talent around him. What I'm trying to say is, would I want a ring or an MVP trophy. A ring obvious, but there's only 1 MVP, and 10-12 who get's a ring.

Soccer is stupid. In the words of Daniel Tosh, id rather watch 300 pound men sprinting at each other for 8 seconds at a time , then watch 5 foot 6 guys lightly jogging for 3 hours, or however long thier game is.

2x45 (and overtime, and a halftime break ~15 minutes) so roughly 2 hours for a total game.

Regarding the bold part, isn't that obvious given we're on a football forum, and not a soccer forum Wink Razz

They don't play baseball because hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports. They don't play soccer because not everyone gets to make highlights. It's a true team sport in which everyone has to be on the same page to win. Most american kids are just too selfish to be patient on a soccer field. That's why basketball and football have become so popular, because you get individual recognition. Football is fun to you because you understand it and know all the storylines going into a game. Without the drama football isn't that fun to watch. Unless its your team or two good teams, it's awfully boring.
