|

|
| Quote: | Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon was arrested on DUI charges Sunday in Stillwater, Ok.
Blackmon was arrested on charges of "aggravated DUI," meaning his blood-alcohol level was .15 or higher. The legal limit is .08. Blackmon was booked into jail at roughly 10AM CT, a bizarre time for a DUI. Blackmon was also arrested for DUI as a redshirt sophomore at Oklahoma State in October 2010. The No. 5 pick has yet to sign a contract. |
Per Rotoworld (source out of Tulsa)
I know this doesnt affect us but i figured with all the debates of Blackmon in the past I figured there would still be some interest.
Not that this really matters in terms of the grand scheme of his career or playing ability, but i am still glad he isnt in the Blue and Gold. _________________

Well it shows that he either has an alcohol problem, is a complete moron, or likely both. Typically if you have 2 alcohol related offenses it is a sign of an alcohol problem. Blowing above a .15 is not joke. Drunk Driving fatalities are 3 times more likely with a bac of .15 as opposed to .08.
Had he done this prior to the draft I doubt he would have been a top 20 pick. _________________

Yeah, above .15 is pretty drunk.
Before you want to call him an idiot just realize that he is only 22 years old. Most people that age or younger are "dumb" enough to make similar mistakes. Just because he plays football doesn't mean you can expect him to have matured more than his peers. If anything, his football career likely has caused that process to be slower.
Now that guy Leonard Little, is an idiot. _________________

So glad we didn't trade up to draft him. Not a good sign IMO. When you get arrested for having a DUI already and then get even more drunk and drive again, it shows something that I don't like. _________________

Fair enough. What gets me most mad about Blackmon is that he truly seemed remorseful after the first incident. _________________

I have a serious problem with people who decide to drive drunk, especially people who do it when they are absolutely tanked. And doing it once is one thing but to do it a second time, no excuse its just plain dumb and irresponsible. Good thing he didnt kill anyone while driving.
I know multiple people who have one or more DUI's and its just mind boggling. Its really quite simple... If you drink.. Dont drive. Nothing is that important to where you have to drive to be somewhere in that scenario. Again just immature and irresponsible. _________________

I will say what he did was idiotic. 1 DUI is excusable. You're young, you make mistakes. I know I have although I've always had enough sense to never get behind the wheel when intoxicated.
However, doing it twice, getting so drunk that you blow a 0.24 BAC and driving with that? That's really dumb and dangerous. _________________

He blew a .24? Jesus man. I'm a pretty heavy drinker, and I never get that shwasted.
And certainly it was idiotic, I was just pointing out that he has time to mature and learn from it. Let's hope he does, and before the Jags visit STL for a game. _________________

Yea, I was pretty shocked by that too. To make matters worse, we have no idea how long it was after he left the bar when he took the breathalyzer. Scary to think when he decided to drive, his BAC was even higher. _________________

It's simple. Look to the top right of each post and click quote. |
