I would as well, we need DT depth, and obviously he knows our system. We would get him cheap as well, and he'd just be in the rotation. Bring Harris back

I always liked Harris and I think most fans did as well...but he really dropped his level of play after his first few years and there's a reason no team has picked him up yet.

"Having him, you know that you're getting an elite defensive tackle."

That's more than an overstatement by Briggs...Harris hasn't been elite in a many years. Not sure that we have a place for him with Paea, Melton, Toeina and possibly even Izzy getting reps at DT depending on how McClellin progresses. Just not sure how Harris would improve our team at this point.

I love Tommie, the person and the player but cannot justify bringing him back. God luv him but his knees are totally shot. I saw Sayers playing as a shadow of himself and Butkus too and it was just painful and sad to watch. Let me remember Tommie when he could just destroy the middle of a line and not as a pathetic has-been hanging on to past glory.

Tommie has no lower body strength anymore. His only way to collapse the pocket is to try and blow by a guard or center off the snap. He's made a few big plays that way the last couple of years, but more often than not he's been worthless.

In fairness, he was dominant early on in 2007 (I think he hurt his knee in week 3). His game against the Chargers was incredible.

Great game for him, and he made the Pro Bowl playing mostly injured. Nonetheless, December 2006 was the end of Harris as we had come to know him.

He had an MCL tear in the Cowboy game, and that was the end of Harris as we knew him. He was dominant in the first two and a half games in 2007 (Chargers, Chiefs, Cowboys) after recovering fully from the hamstring injury.

Remember week 4 that year, at Detroit when Brian Griese started? The Bears were down all four starting DBs, Harris, and I think Briggs and missed that game too. Awful year.

Yeah, the careers of Tommie, Vasher, and Mike Brown all took a big hit with the injuries they suffered the 1st three weeks, and none were ever the same player again. That was the end of that dominant 05-06 defense basically.
