The more I hear about him the more I believe he could be our number one cb in 3 years. If he can stay healthy the guy has all the talent it takes to be great. As others have said I see no way in the world,we put him on our PS seeing as another team will sign him in a heartbeat. I really hope he can see some playing time in the nickel at.some point during the season.

| Quote: | He reads the quarterback very well, has solid hands and understands receiving routes, which is likely a byproduct of his spell as a wide out in high school.
This also enables him to make a lot of interceptions by timing his jumps and taking the ball at its highest point, as evidenced by his picking of a Rex Grossman throw during minicamps.
Redskins fans may crow that this isn't much of a feat, but he's breaking up passes from Robert Griffin III as well. John Keim of the Washington Examiner noted that he's also having no trouble covering the starting receivers, keeping pace with Pierre Garon and smothering him for space and time. |

From all the reports, there should be no doubt that he should be our 3rd CB if healthy. With DeAngelo playing nickel during 3rd downs Chase will probably be on the outside. |

I was thinking of posting a topic about Minnifield being too "weak" to be on the team this year. He benched 225lbs seven times, Of the combine results listed on FF, there are several who didn't participate, but he is the lowest.
Kevin Barnes is skinny too...He's going to have to show well physically. _________________

Kevin Barnes hits like a 220 lb DB, that's why they should move him to safety. Yeah he's skinny, but when you watch him tackle youd think he's much bigger. Weight doesn't matter if you are a good form tackler and Barnes is. It's going to be hard for him to beat out the vets there though because of their knowledge of the position, same with Gomes. I hope we don't lose them, but I fear we may. _________________

225lbs 7 times for a CB is good enough, some cant even lift it once (F.Smoot). That drill(the bench) basically shows teams which CB's can jam WR's.
Realistically speaking you don't have to be safety, or LB strong to play CB in the NFL. 7 times for a CB sounds about right. Chase is a skinny kid so 7 times surprised me . He should be good though as long as he can blanket WR's strength really doesn't matter (that much). |

I really want this kid to make the team this year.
7 times? Not that bad for a skinny CB. I want him to be able to cover and intercept the ball. He can only get stronger while he was on the team. _________________

Right! we dont need him bulking up for no apparent reason like a former Redskins from LSU that now plays for the Jets.
But once he gets a NFL regime going, im sure he will add more/just enough to nto effect his cover abilities. |

I think he'll start out as our #4 or 5 cb, But I'm thinking by the end of the year he will prove to be our #3 and will be a key part in the continued youth movement. _________________

| As a UVA fan I am rooting for him to make the roster. I believe he has the ability to play in the NFL. His biggest problem is his lack of size and prone to injury. He has good coverage skills though which I hope continue to grow. |

I have a feeling that if we cut him, he'll go to a team like the Giants and thrive with them. Let's hope Minnie (My nickname for him. Back off!) makes the team and performs well. He's a very good low risk, high reward player. _________________ RIP SuperSkinFan

From all the things I read about him since joining the team, I see no way he dosen't make this team. He comes from a good football back round and plays his position very well. Before injury some mocks had him going as high as the Browns second 1st round pick. Dude will make the team and I see him seeing alot of playing time during the season as our #3 or #4 CB, especially if D. Hall will play more of the role as Woodson plays in Green Bay. _________________
