No way
Decastro was head and shoulders the best OG prospect in a LONG time. |
I don't agree with the C+ for Zeitler, i'm just saying they were not equal. |
I gave zeitler a c+ because if you remember the bengals were picking with decastro on the board and they traded down and got zeitler. I think they would have gotten a much better player in decastro, not saying zeitler is so bad, but the pick itself to take him later instead of decastro earlier I disagree with and that is why I gave the pick a c+. no doubt about it though that zeitler will be a good player |

Why so low on Brockers/Pead? |
I feel like brockers is a huge boom or bust, and I am a notoriously low grader as people have seemed to notice. Looking at it again it could be a b-. Pead went too high IMO and I'm just not that impressed. He's def going to have to learn a lot from Jackson. |

I can understand the hesitation to give McClellin a good grade where we picked him....but giving the Jeffrey pick a C? in the second round? seriously? |
Yea. Jeffery was severely overrated in my opinion, and you guys brought in Brandon Marshall. Where does that leave Jeffery? He,s definitely not a slot option. Drafting Rodriquez in round 4 rules out a TE move. You just don't know what Jeffery you I'll get and he doesn't seem to have a spot to fit in, and to use a high second rounder on that? Doesn't seem like a great pick. |

You're a bit harsh, don't you think? We hit all our needs and the only picks that get at least B grades are RG3 and Keenan Robinson? I don't understand your scale. |
Dude Washington had a ton of reaches and gave up a ton of picks for a qb who yes is very talented but may be very injury prone as well in the NFL ala Michael vick. Yes he is also a very polished passer, and whenever you get a shot at a franchise qb u take him, which is why he got the a, but it's still a risky risky pick because you know he is going to run a lot. The rest of the draft was filled with guys, except for Robinson, who could have been had a round or more later IMO. Honestly RG3 and Robinson are the only guys I see having much of an impact. Maybe Morris will work out at a fb position. The draft grade could change if one of the Kline an turns into a starting right tackle, but leribibeus was a reach. I think Bettie has the best chance of the 3 tackles personally, I always have faith in Iowa lineman. Cousins was a good value pick but he doesn't make sense taking in the same draft as rg3, cause what happens if he struggles and cousins plays great? They should move him for a veteran backup and draft picks to help replace all the picks they lost. It was a very boom or bust type draft. |

Obviously earlier picks have a much bigger impact on your draft rating, it's not just an average of the grade on each pick. Gaining or losing future picks also has an impact on the overall draft class. I would have liked to have added exps but this took long enough as it was. I'll respond to some in the next few posts however. |
then just grade only the top 2 picks instead of the whole draft then... it makes you look questionable and bias, Dallas had all C's and 1 A and they get a B, come on, I do applaud your effort |

If people look back on this draft class for the steelers 20 years from now and say " wow that draft gave them two probowlers for a decade" then that's a pretty good overall draft to me regardless of who else was picked. How the best player fits into your scheme has a bearing as well. Dallas had a huge need at corner and made the move to go get him at the correct spot. The fact that they did that made their draft a lot better than it would have had they not moved up, so regardless of the crap they did later, I still give their draft a B- because claiborne has the potential to make a darrelle revis type impact.
Teams who get such impact players such as claiborne or richardson or luck or any of those top five picks have a tough time getting below a B-. Cleveland did, getting a C+, but many people on this forum hailed their class as one of the 3 worst. I don' agree with that, but weeden didn't help their cause that early, and so that odd circumstance dropped them down below a B-, but honestly the difference between a B- and C+ is pulling hairs, maybe I should have called it B/C. Plus why would I be bias towards dallas when I'm a giants fan? I try to be fair and follow my reasoning consistently. |

Unless I'm missing something, there's nothing special about an average speed, 6'0ish WR who came from a passing attack that fed him the ball. |

I don't know anything about Blackmon and won't call him a bust/stud, but the player you're describing sounds pretty much like Michael Crabtree. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |
