You anti Palmer's are funny.

Who would you prefer as the Raiders quarterback?

Average - Campbell

Above Average - Campbell & Dmac / Palmer & no dmac

Great - Palmer & Dmac

We have. The potential to be a great team if both those guys stay healthy

you guys are crazy Laughing

Lets go dawg! Palmer ftw.

For real though, Campbell needs DMC to consistently win, Palmer doesn't. Palmer can win without a top notch run game. Campbell can't

Give Palmer a quality run game and he can be dominant (2005 with rudi Johnson)

Palmer starting sans DMC went 4-5. #consistentlywinning

I'm referring this year, not last season coming off the couch with a historically bad D.

If we had even an average Defense he would have been 6-3. Without DMC Campbell would have been 3-6 at best, and that's being nice. The fact that Palmer won that many games in his situation is still impressive, NTM he had us in position to win a few more.

My apologies for possibly starting another Palmer vs. Campbell debate. I shall continue no further with this conversation.

+1 preach

WOW I am in complete reluctance to believe that some still expect to get married overnight Rolling Eyes (those who do lets talk outside, let me know what insurance you are covered by for a 45 min session)

anyway ....lets give him more then jus half a season, lets give him a full off season, and a healthy mac attack.

plus now he'll actually have time to build chemistry with the entire O

of course but that applies to all teams Laughing

defense almost entirely played below average but other issues involved

jc played average, palmer played average for coming thru mid season

with dmac, we were at our best no matter who was qb

oline was the big surprise played well above average

wr's were much better then expected

moore was nasty, a nasty rookie, dhb averagely improved, ford did nothing aside from that kr return and a td or so but guy was banged up

going into this season, offensively we ready to light it up

key players and even key like murphy were injured

penaltys and bs killed us

I disagree. Penalties are not what caused the defense to be among the worst in franchise history. Couldn't stop the run or pass and gave up leads consistently.

Penalties hurt, but any defensive effort and they win 2-3 more games.

Can't clearly remember which games they were but i remember a few instances when the D had stopped the opposing O on a 4th quarter drive only to gave them a new set of downs due to penalty and leading to a game losing drive.

The Raiders weren't a good enough team to give opposing teams extra opportunities. Few teams are.

Obviously, had the Defense been better it would have resulted in a few more wins as well but it's hard to discount penalties when you've set 2 new NFL records.

buffalo is one game that comes to mind....another is minnesota not that we lost that game but so much closer then i shouldve been

there were a few games we had a chance to win but penalties rendered that.

there were also a few games we shouldve have won by 2 or 3 scores but penalites kept the opposing team in it

is what it is.

I'm sorry what?! In order for the score to stay close, the other team has to actually score. A good defense will prevent that.

This defense made Colt McCoy look good last year. Ponder throws for 2 scores to make it a game in the 4th quarter. Buffalo comes from back to win down 21-3 at half! Detroit down 27-14 with 7 minutes left comes back and wins.

Now, I will give you penalties (see Routt) killed the defense at times, but end of the day, your defense has to hold teams to FGs and force turnovers. Something the Raiders failed miserably at. In fact, Curry's TD against Detroit week 15 was the first defensive score for the Raiders all season. That. Is. Pathetic.

meh

remember a huge penalty on 3rd and long vs buffalo to give em more opportunities to stay in the game when we couldve sealed it

vs minnesota we had roughing the passer, a couple of face masks which gave them almost 50 yards of the field. you have a guy like AP and your within 10 yards of scoring tough to stop that

defense sucked, as did penalties

and right a good defense will prevent that and an average d will...we had none of the above.

but with a below average D and a D that is undisciplined and gives up 10 penalites per games, they were much closer then they shouldve

our offense generated points and D did not make enough stops

remember a huge penalty on 3rd and long vs buffalo to give em more opportunities to stay in the game when we couldve sealed it

big rich vs new england and so on

plus i didnt see colt mckoy tear us up, guy got chewed up as did Ponder all they did was running around...

D let up in the latter half of the game, penalties didnt help the cause
