I've been hearing rumors Melton has been taking a few snaps at running back. That could be a lot of fun to watch, but hopefully Forte doesn't get snubbed like sweetness did when we get to the superbowl this year... _________________ Adopt-A-Bear: Charles Tillman; Total Tackles- 86, Solo Tackles- 74, Passes Defended- 16, Interceptions- 3, TD's- 3 "Peanut Punches"- 10 Fumbles recovered- 2

| I would rather just let the guy rush the passer…the UT spot is just too important to us altho it would be fun to watch LBs trying to stop him on the goal line lol. |

I think he has been doing this for a while, like since he got here, he is a former running back to begin with, I remember he returned a kickoff once too. _________________

Michael Bush is big enough for that role. |

Agreed, we don't have depth at DT to be risking him there. I'd rather see Evan Rodriguez carrying the ball if we need a big back.
That being said, I'm all for letting Melton have his fun (like he did when he returned the kickoff). Give him 1 TD vs the Packers at Soldier Field in the 4th quarter when we're already up 35-3 |

Batten down the hatches when the Bears do stuff like this. A PR stunt? So when D-lineman Melton injures his back and they still won't sign Forte.....did JA sneak in the back door? _________________ "I have to keep playing so people over 40 will have somebody to root for on Sunday afternoons." Melton has taken reps at RB every camp...he was a college RB remember....actually led Texas in TDs one year, remember? These are non-contact drills, he has no better chance of getting hurt taking a few reps at RB than he does at DT in this environment. _________________

Melton has played RB...what's wrong with seeing him line up 4-5 times during the season in goal line running situations? _________________

Don't see how he'd be vastly more likely to get hurt crashing into the line from one side as opposed to crashing into it from the other. I'm not going to get my knickers in a twist over this. _________________

He has at least one time and he caught a TD on it. It's the 3:15 mark.

Don't expect to see much of this except as a fake. |

That would be a huge jumbo package. I think cutler would be the smallest and he isn't small by any means for a qb _________________ Adopt-A-Bear: Charles Tillman; Total Tackles- 86, Solo Tackles- 74, Passes Defended- 16, Interceptions- 3, TD's- 3 "Peanut Punches"- 10 Fumbles recovered- 2

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8m0Ee12wEA | He was elgible on punt team..Maynard threw that too him...that's not playing TE. And the comparison isn't close, Melton played all of HS and two years at Texas as an RB.
But cool video...the highlights were awesome! Dang I can't wait for football to start up for real. _________________
