Quote:
NFL teams are extremely protective of their playbooks. When you see a show like Hard Knocks and a player is about to be released by the team, the first thing they ask for is a copy of their playbook. The NFL is a highly secretive league and teams hold close to the vest things like their playbooks.

Enter DJ Williams. The Denver Broncos linebacker has been in the league for eight years so he understands the paranoia around playbooks, which is why it was so surprising to see him post this image on Twitter:

Quote:
That's a picture of his playbook. He writes on Twitter:

Coach just told me I have to learn a new position over the weekn,, we have IPads as playbooks now, but I'm old skool I'm using flash cards & a #2 pencil..#ifitaintbrokedontfixit

It was on his twitter but has since been deleted, what an idiot.

I think it is quite smart, allows feedback from teammates and fans to see if they can't improve those plays.

his next tweet might read like this...

"coach just told me to find a new team to play for over the weekend..."

just kidding, they wont cut him. But posting formation adjustments on the internet is beyond foolish.

That's actually pretty cool. I know how to read out offensive plays pretty well, but never had a REAL grip on defensive plays and how they're sketched out in a playbook. This is great information to see...

...dumb, yes. But still cool to see. Very Happy

They have A new DC this year, and were switching things up since DJ was supposed to "learn a new position".

But now its definitely going to be rare. Laughing

Del Rio likes playign things very straight up outside of his line. he's big on the one-gap 4-3 concept. DJ could easily be playing mike.

notice no adjustment regardless of change for the SAM backer there! He's coming no matter what! Can't say I blame them considering who their SAM is..

And he's suspended for the first couple of games? Yeah glad the rumour of Eagles wanting to trade for him did not come true.

I believe it's an OtterBox. Had one for my old BlackBerry. Served me well.
