Chargers signed RB Ronnie Brown to a one-year contract.
"He didn't have any juice last year, no burst," described 2011 Eagles scout Daniel Jeremiah. Brown, 31, has managed just 437 yards on his last 141 carries (3.099 YPC), over his last 24 games. He only earned 42 carries in Philadelphia last season, sharing LeSean McCoy's backup duties with sixth-round rookie Dion Lewis. Brown does know Norv Turner's offense and can pick up the blitz, giving the Chargers some protection in case Ryan Mathews goes down. In terms of Brown's affect on Mathews' workload, he should have little or none. For a team that could have signed someone like Cedric Benson, it's a best-case scenario for Mathews' fantasy value.

Hopefully he has something left. They needed depth at RB.

If he has anything left, he could probably score a few TD's in that offense.

Hopefully he's nothing but a camp body for you. He was poor last year.

Yes, but that has a lot to do with scheme. He is a PERFECT scheme fit in SD, where he is literally the complete opposite the eagles loook for in a RB. SD uses the strait ahead pound the rock run game, where the egles are more out of shotgun a majority of the time which requires quick backs. He's perfect in that he's a grat blocker and receiver as well.

Big body between the tackles guy, if he has something left could be useful.

Love me some Ronnie Brown. I think he makes the team.

Although for my fantasy team's sake, I hope he doesn't steal many carries away from Ryan Mathews...

At this point he has Jacob Hester, Curtis Brinkley, and various extremely late round or UDFA rookies to beat out. Granted, Norv's got his major jones for Hester, but if Brown can just stay healthy he shouldn't have difficult outproducing Jacob. Brinkley might surprise some folks in term of his running ability, but 3 years in and the guy still leaves a lot to be desired pass-blocking.

If it's not perfectly obvious by now, I'm still extremely bitter that the Vikings effectively filched Jordan Todman from us with little to play for at the end of losing season... Mad

Todman is likely the top candidate to be the #3 RB, and possible third down back. I dont know much about him, other than he possess the size of a typical third down back.

He's 31? Shocked

Wow, he should make for a good depth back in San Diego. He's in a system that fits him.

He's solid. I just don't think he fit what Philly wanted him to do.

I've always liked Brown. The best of luck to him in San Diego.

As long as were in the goal line and he doesn't stuff like this then I won't have a heart attack. I know every time I bring up his name to my friend that's a Eagles fan bad words start coming out of this mouth.

Yeah, he'll never be forgiven for that.

I actually didn't think he was as bad as most Eagle's fans seem to think. He still runs hard and has some athleticism.
