Why didn't New Jersey give up their first rounder for this year? It's not like they'll likely be picking any later in the next 2 drafts. _________________ RIP SuperSkinFan

Probably wants Subban or Vasilevski, they need a good goalie prospect. _________________

Pretty upset the Wings traded their first for Quincey. I'd rather have kept it and made an all out effort at trading up for Forsberg with it instead. He is going to be a stud, and could potentially grow into a power forward body type (he's 17 and almost 6'2" 190) with a right handed shot.. he'd fit in perfectly.
I agree with you guys on Grigorenko, though. He's going to be good. _________________

I LOVE the idea of having a top line of Hall*Nugent-Hopkins*Yakupov. The scoring should be crazy.
Now if we'd only get some quality defensemen.... _________________

Just watching some of the draft previews.
Yakupov is a lock to go #1 overall but after that it's anyone's guess.
The draft is deep in defencemen and checking forwards.
It will be interesting to see what the Montreal Canadiens do. The last time they selected as high as 3rd overall was 1980, when they took the late Doug Wickenheiser with the 1st overall pick. It would be nice if they could get a goal-scorer or a playmaking centre. They haven't had a 50-goal scorer since Stéphane Richer scored 51 in 1991. The last Canadien to win the scoring title was Guy Lafleur in 1978. _________________

I think it's hot air. Like Seguin over Hall and Duchene over Tavares.
If Murray does go #1, expect a lot of unfair Chris Phillips comparisons. _________________

I wonder who did that
Yakupov is the clear cut #1. Edmonton will take him. Hell, Murray isn't even the clear cut #1 defender. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |
