Teravainen is finally off the board. Took a while. Chicago snags him at 19. Still waiting for Olli Maata to come off the board.

I was hoping for a defensemen, Maata or Thrower ideally. Never heard of Laughton, Center was the last position I expected us to pick; although I do like the comparison to Mike Richards TSN gave him.

Like the pick, expect him to not be a flyer in a week or so, JvR is the last 1st rounder we kept and that was 5 years ago

Couturier?

Also we "kept" Sbisa for a season.

I'm okay with the pick, woulda rather had Matta, but we got a pretty good 3rd line center assuming Schenn is a long term winger.

Giroux, Couturier, Schenn, Laughton, Voracek, Simmonds, van Riemsdyk, Read, Talbot, and Wellwood are all forwards on the roster under 30.

Wouldn't shock me if any of them not named Giroux, Couturier, and Schenn aren't Flyers next season though. *Hoping for Ryan*

Very nice value pick right there even if they already did take a defenseman at #8.

The Penguins are really stocking up in defensemen in their system.
