Yeah I thought I've seen that around, so I'm abit confused why Nolan had JLG entering the cave.

I think Greg_Jennings hit on it quite well. At the crux of the Batman franchise is the story of Bruce Wayne, billionaire orphan and his quest for justice and the safe keeping of Gotham. Since the first few movies, one item has stood out - as soon as Gotham no longer NEEDED Batman, Bruce could go back to his "normal" life. The people who were concerned about the well being of Wayne - most notably Alfred and Rachel Dawes, the closest Wayne had to family - looked for that time, but feared it would never come.

By showing the efforts of John Blake, and the supposed "Rise" of someone to take on the mantle of the silent guardian, Bruce Wayne's story - the actual story at hand - is done. Rachel can now rest in peace, as can Alfred.

This and Nolan always talks about Batman being a symbol. I think he wanted to show that the Batman is about more than one man and anyone who has the passion to do something like that could take over.

In The Dark Knight there were a lot of people trying to be Batman, but they were wearing hockey pads.

You need the passion to do it, and the means to get it done.

There's a difference between "Batman can be anybody," and "Anybody can be Batman."

That's why they had a cop and Batman's sidekick in the movie "rise" at the end. Wayne clearly trusted Blake to carry on as Batman and that was the point. Wayne chose his successor.

This. It was extremely anticlimatic.

YES. He was built up to be this immense enemy that had all the control and power in the world, yet he gets pushed aside as the main villain then he gets blasted. I was actually waiting for them to finish him off because I thought he was still alive. Horrible ending to such an imposing character.

this was my main gripe with the film. He was such a great villain, but to complete a good villain, they need a GREAT ending. and Bane's was just awful

I was a bit disappointed too, but I think they showed that Batman wouldve killed him if Talia hadnt stepped in.

Still, wish it wouldve ended with him having his mask completely removed or something and him dying that way.

Id like to think that if the movie wasnt so long they could have given bane a better ending.

Not anybody can be Batman. If that were true, then wouldn't it be really easy to kill the Bruce Wayne Batman? Since he's so replaceable and not that much better than anyone else..

So a blatant Return of the Jedi ripoff?

This. I heard the original cut of the movie was 4 hours, I'm kinda hoping the director's cut on Blu-ray is something like that.

Ken Watanabe was in BB, as the "fake" Ras-al Ghoul...

Josh Stewart (Barsad) was from Criminal Minds and he had a pretty sizable role.

Wade Williams (Prison Break) was in The Dark Knight Rises too.

Deebo was in TDK. Wasn't very Deebo-like, however. Deebo didn't ask Red for that chain, didn't ask Red for the bike...he straight took it.

While the move was def long enough, I wouldn't have minded to see some of this backstory they apparently filmed on Bane. I do hope those scenes end up on the dvd/blu ray release of it, but I doubt it since BB and TDK didn't have any deleted scenes on them.

I bet they are saving them for the Blu Ray Trilogy box set that will be ungodly expensive.

I don't necessarily care for deleted scenes, I just want a director's cut. TDKR felt too rushed at times.
