Very good no. 2 pivot for the Caps. Can get on his horse and play a fast game but also buckle down and play a decent defensive game. _________________

Ribs has been on his way out for a while. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the best we could do. Didn't have a good attitude with us. And I was reading that Eakin was one of Washington's top 3 or 4 prospects. Not sure if that means much, I guess we are leaning towards a re-building mode _________________

Got to admit that is a very nice move for the Isles. Visnovsky is a great puck mover in the back end. He and Streit on the PP could be deadly. | Between those guys, Calvin de Haan, and Travis Hamonic, the NY Islanders are going to have no problems moving the puck up high on the power play. That's an impressive top four from a PP perspective. _________________

Not surprising that it is Carolina that got him. Unites with his brother Eric. He got what he wanted. Pitt made out pretty nicely in the package they got too. _________________

After he rejected that big offer that was basically the end. I'm glad that they were able to get something rather than let him walk away and not get anything back. I would have liked the trade a little more if they would have drafted Forsberg instead of Pouliot though. Still, considering he was most likely going to sign with Carolina in the offseason I like the return. _________________

The Caps are having a nice night not only with that trade but selecting Forsberg and Wilson in the draft as well. _________________

Clairvoyant as always.
Late for this but I am a big Brandon Sutter fan. He would be the perfect 3rd line center for Pittsburgh. _________________

I'm not sure whether that's sarcasm or not. Seriously I'm terrible at detecting Sarcasm _________________

Penguins trade Zbynek Michalek to Phoenix for D Harrison Ruopp, 2012 #81 overall, G Marc Cheverie
Michalek, 29, made it through just two of the five years on his contract with Pittsburgh, which pays him $4M annually.
Ruopp was Phoenix's 3rd round pick last year and is a bruising defenseman for the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders. Cheverie enters his age 25 season next year with 0 NHL games under his belt and with AHL and ECHL stints each of the last two seasons in the Phoenix and Florida organizations.
Between this and the Jordan Staal trade, the Penguins gained $8M in cap space. The TSN guys were saying they could be players for Zach Parise when he hits free agency. _________________

So Michalek was away from Phoenix for only 1 year and now is back in the fold. That's funny to me. _________________
