The NHL entry draft has its own thread. I figure with July 1 around the corner, there are rumors abound and some teams are already in the process of re-signing their own talent (Great job by Ottawa in locking up Karlsson). Zach Parise is the main prize in the FA market, but there are also trade rumors abond for the likes of Bobby Ryan, Rick Nash, Shea Weber, and many others.
What will also be interesting is seeing how the potential of a work stoppage could affect how some teams approach the offseason. _________________ NFL: Dallas Cowboys

I have a feeling the Flyers are going to make at least one big move on draft day. |

I just want the Oilers to acquire a few defensemen since I know we won't be drafting one 1st overall on Friday. _________________

The Blues are looking for a top 4 LH Dman to pair with Petro.
Suter please?
Easily the best 1-2 punch on the blue line if the miracle is pulled off.
Wouldn't be surprised if they signed Garrison or Carle. A trade may happen, but not sure who is available. _________________

Marek Zidlicky can be had for a Smores pop tart. Well, two. _________________

If I was the GM of the Oilers, I would be thinking long and hard about Ryan Murray - I'd probably draft him first overall. |

I've read a rumor the Flyers have an offer on the table for Weber that would send Jakub Voracek, James van Riemsdyk, Marc-Andre Bourdon and our next 2 first round picks for him.
I've also seen a rumor that the Flyers have an offer for Rick Nash that would send JvR, Matt Read, and Sergei Bobrovski and possibly another pick for Nash.
I wouldn't be shocked if they got involved in the Bobby Ryan sweepstakes. Homer loves the kid and has wanted him for years in Philly.
Theres also been rumors that the Flyers are looking to move up in the draft.
Safe to say Homer is working the phones.

At this point I'm used to not having 1st Rounders anymore. _________________

I'd give him a hard look too, but there's never any reason to pass on a superior player simply to fill a need. And that's what we'd be doing if we took Murray 1st overall. In my opinion, you take the BPA regardless of position in each and every round. Drafting for need is very dangerous. _________________
