Honestly, I don't watch much college basketball. Anyone wanna tell me about Terrence Ross? I've heard he's a pretty good shooter and defender, but I don't know much about the guy. Who would you compare him to (in terms of best and worst case)? Thx, much appreciated.

Hmm...

Worst case:
Gerald Green

Best case:
JR Smith with his head on straight
or
Stephen Jackson with a better 3 ball

I don't see the Dudley comparison with Green. I see him more as a Glen Davis/Brandon Bass type player.

I actually do see the Dudley comparison. Glen Davis and Brandon Bass are solid comparisons too I guess, but he's not as tall or bulky as either guy.

Draymond Green is nothing like Jared Dudley.

What about Paul Millsap?

MKG ceiling: Scottie Pippen

mkg is a lot more talented than Wallace coming out of college.

I totally agree with this ^^^

Wow Shocked

I don't see that at all.

More so in their playing style if he plays PG. I actually like the AI comparison more, both had stupid cross overs and were great scorers.

Other than both being shoot first guys, they have almost nothing in common. (referring to Westbrook and Rivers)

One is a freak athlete, above average defender who finishes strong at the rim and isn't a great shooter.

The other is an average athlete and a poor defender who can beat a guy off the dribble put can't finish around the rim and relies on his above average jump shot.

Rivers is a better than "average" athlete, first off. Secondly, he was actually a very solid defender at Duke... their best, in fact.

He's an average NBA athlete. And I gotta take issue with you saying that he was Duke's best defender (and Duke struggled defensively this year). Tyler Thornton, although pretty useless otherwise, was the best defender on Duke.

Take it from someone who saw every Duke game, Thornton was very, very mediocre. No lateral quickness and short arms. Rivers WAS the better defender. The reason Thornton saw the floor was because of his hustle and his voice.

I'll defer to you. I watched Duke quite a bit myself, and Thornton was always the guy that Coach K stuck on the other team's best guard. Now maybe that's because he didn't want tire Rivers out on defense by having him chase around the other team's best player all game, but Thornton always looked the better defender to me.

Rivers only averaged 1.1 steals per 40 minutes and didn't block a shot all year.

Andre Dawkins blocked two shots and he might be the worst perimeter defender I've seen since Greg Paulus.

The steals mean whatever to me. Rivers did a good job of keeping people in front of him without fouling and forcing the player with the ball to pass or take an ill-advised shot. I didn't expect him to be a Young M.J... I actually thought he would suck at defense, but he really surprised me.

And for what it's worth, saying that he's Duke's best defender is like being the tallest dwarf. That whole team sucked on defense, but saying that Rivers was poor is just unfair, IMO.

Rivers is a right handed Manu Ginobli. Same type of Euro game, same size, same type of athleticism and explosion. Both are "herky jerky" and crafty. Both can finish with their weak hand but its not very often.

Derrick Rose is bigger, stronger and just as quick. Rose is a better outside shooter, rebounder, defender, passer and finisher around the rim.I'm wonder in what aspect you believe Westbrook is a better athlete?

I mean maybe Westbrook is a better runner, like of they ran the 200 m dash, Westbrook would probably win.
How is passing a measure of athleticism? Laughing

How is Rose bigger? Westbrook was measured an inch taller at the combine, and a lot of people will claim he's added another inch. Rose is 3 pounds heavier. I'd struggle to say Rose is bigger.

How did you decide Rose is stronger also? Laughing

Westbrook is faster and better vertically. Vertically is not even a question.
Yea man slow down there turtle.

Westbrook is faster, quicker, and definitely bigger and stronger. The latter 2 aren't even up for discussion. Saying Rose is a better defender shows that you're really love the guy, or discredits your bball credit.

Westbrook is obviously a better rebounder not only because he gets more lift, but because he's aggressive at attacking the boards. If you look at the Finals, the Heat made it a priority to keep boxing out Westbrook. Esp Mario and Battier (which is why they got into a scuffle).

And as far as strength, it's one thing to be strong and another to know how to use it. Westbrook can not only bully his way to the rim (LeBron style of course), he can back you down as well. And he can guard bigger guys than him inside.

Finishing at the rim? Yea that's all Rose.
Outside shooting? I really don't know about that one.

As far CP3 goes....shooting wise he blows Westbrook out of the water. No contest. It's..

Nash

DWill
CP3
Irving

WB
Rose

Rondo

Irving is the best shooter on this list not named Nash, and hes coming for that title too. And about the Rose vs Westbrook debate, its really simple.

Rose (pre-injury) is a better leaper, and has more upper body strength, Westbrook has better lateral quickness, and can change speeds better. Both are extremely fast end to end with the ball. Thats the difference between them physically/athletically. There are essentially the same player.

Yo, are you trying to tell a Celtics fan that Baby is anything but poop?

Anyway, I like our guys to:

Jared Sullinger: DaJuan Blair with range, I guess.

Fab Melo: I like him to a really raw Anderson Varejao.

How good is Drew Gordon's mid-range jumper? It doesn't seem to be too reliable at all, but I haven't seen much of him, so that's why I ask.
