A 5th round pick and an urfa who've not put on pads in the nfl.
Getting ahead of ourselves no? |
Totally agree, Bey caught over 60 balls for us last season and was 25 yards away from having a 1,000 yard season! Whens the last time a Raiders receiver put up those kinds of numbers??? Not to mention the guy was out hurt a couple of games! had he been completely healthy for the whole season I'm almost positive he would have had an 80 catch 1,100 yard season.
I hate it when people compare those coming out of college against vets, simply because these cats have yet to play an NFL game and your already saying that their better then somebody that has proven that they can play in the NFL... |
He was joking because another poster around here thinks our rookies who have never even suited up in a full NFL uniform are already better than DHB, who isnt worth a box of crackerjacks

Houston should be the heir apparant for one of them, but that also means we need to replace him at DE. I hope we can find a good pass rusher to take his old spot if/when this happens. Houston at DT with a good pass rushing DE opposite Shaggy would be mighty nice. |
The Raiders already have. Seymour, Houston & Bryant is a quality rotation. McKenzie is a forward thinker. The Raiders only need Crawfor or Bilukidi to pan out as the 4th DE. |
I mean a good pass rusher to take Houston's old spot at DE if he is moved to DT, not a good pass rushing DT. We have a very good DT rotation amd it would be even better if/when Houston moves to DT. Bilukidi isnt going to be a pass rushing DE, he is a DT as of right now at least, and I'm not holding my breath on Crawford. I want to use a 1st or 3rd round pick on a good, productive pass rusher next year, or sign one via FA. _________________

I remember seeing that. But I thought the reason he did that was so he could amortize out the bonus over the max number of years, so the cap hit would be minimized. I highly doubt he stays here that long. |
Granted, I don't see Seymour playing out the life of this contract but isn't the salary cap hit next season equally prohibitive to being cut and Seymour is already a foregone conclusion he will restructure and play for the Raiders in 2013?
In addition, what are your opinions/outlook on McKenzie choosing NOT to restructure TK when it's obvious he could use the space? |
Cutting him would still save 3.5M on the cap for 2013. IMO, he's very likely to be cut, especially if he plays like he did last season which is nowhere close to the value of his contract.
As for Kelly not restructuring, it was the best option for the Raiders since it doesn't push the prorated signing bonus into future years and allows for a possible cut without much dead money left on his original contract. _________________
