Welcome to the First Annual Lionys award presentation!
On behalf of LionsFTW I would like to welcome everyone to the first annual presentation of the Lionys! These awards were created in order to bring the forum together, generate an increase in activity, and recognize the people who make the Lions Den the amazing place that it is. The awards were voted on by members here in the Lions Forum and recognize those who provide something special. The Lions Den couldn't be what it is without each and every one of you, but tonight we recognize the winners of the very first Lionys!
The Barry Sanders Award (MVP) - Most Valuable Poster
The Barry Sanders Award goes to the poster who, as voted by their peers, is recognized as the most outstanding and valuable poster here in the Lions Den. This poster has been a Lions fan before a lot of us were born, has given us his services as an outstanding Moderator, has helped organize the first two Lions Gate events, and is looked up by just about everyone. He knows his Lions, the NHL, and offers his guidance in life hurdles that people may be facing in the anything thread whether it's knowledge about buying a house or just a kind word of wisdom.
The 1st annual Barry Sanders Award goes to: DiehardLionFan!
Dave Bing Award - Award going to the best moderator
This award goes to the moderator voted for recognition by the rest of the Lions Forum. One was named, but the award should honestly go to all three moderators. Each Mod here in the forum offers something different, and the forum wouldn't be the same if any of us left. But, the forum has spoken...
The Dave Bing Award goes to: X_Factor_40
Rookie of the Year - Award for the best new poster
The Rookie of the Year award goes to the poster who joined within the last year and is recognized by the rest of the forum as an outstanding new poster. We have a lot of established veteran posters here in the Lions Den, along with an influx of new, knowledgeable fans who will offer a lot for years to come as the forum continues to grow.
The 1st annual ROY award goes to: DrRay11
Sir Isaac Newton Award - Award for the most knowledgeable poster
The most knowledgeable poster Award goes to the poster who is recognized as the poster who displays outstanding knowledge of not only the Lions, but the rest of the NFL as well. For a lot of you who joined within the last few years you may not be as familiar with this poster, but when he posts... you read it because it's usually something special. Worthy of not only the most knowledgeable poster award here in the Lions fan, but arguably the most knowledgeable poster on all of FootballsFuture...
The Award for the Most Knoweldable Poster goes to: Laimbrane!
Adam Schefter Award - Award for the best news breaker in the Lions Den
This award goes to the poster who is recognized as the #1 news breaker. The goal of this award is to get the news from the media to the fans here in the Lions Den in hopes of generating discussion and providing a place for friendly debate.
The Adam Shefter Award goes to: X_Factor_40
The Andy Richter Award - Award for the funniest poster
What is a a football forum without a funny guy? Well, I guess that would be a football forum. Luckily for us we have a funny man of our very own!

Can anybody hear me Award - Award for the most underrated poster
One thing I've always been quick to mention to posters outside the Lions Den is simply that we are made up of the very best posters FF has to offer. If you venture outside of the Lions forum you'll have a hard time finding a group of guys as knowledgeable, well rounded, respectful, and as great to be around as the group we have in here. There are the posters that everyone knows, and then there are the guys who are incredibly valuable to our make up who fly under the radar. Well, this award recognizes the poster who people feel is the most underrated poster here in the Lions Den. I couldn't agree more with the result...
The Can anybody hear me award goes to: Jrugges!
Mr. Detroit - Award for the most well-rounded Detroit sports fan
Mr. Detroit goes to the poster who supports Detroit and Detroit sports regardless of their success. The true definition of a loyal fan. His knowledge about all Detroit sports is impressive, and he stands by the Pistons despite their recent struggles. The forum wouldn't be the same without him.
The Mr. Detroit Award goes to: Stylish313!
Tom Kowalski / Killer K Award - Award for the biggest contributor to FF and the Lions Forum
Tom Kowalski was a well know Lions beat writer for many years. He followed the Lions through their ups as well as their downs in recent years before his recent passing. We didn't always agree with his views, but we all recognize his work and his unwavering dedication to his craft and to the Lions. The same can be said for this poster. He has been a fan longer than anyone else here in the Lions Den and his loyalty remains strong. One of the most respected posters to ever post in the Lions Forum, and one of our very best and brightest. One of the major pieces that has held the forum together through it's ups and downs...
The Killer K Award goes to: DiehardLionFan!
I want to take a moment and thank everyone who voted and who made the First Annual Lionys a success!
I also want to stop and thank each and every one of you for making Footballs Future and the Lions forum the best place to talk football on the Web. You can talk to your friends about casual football, but there's not another place in the world where you can come and share your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations about the Lions with a better group of guys than you can here in the Lions forum. I think I speak for everyone when I say that I appreciate everyone and their opinion's. I can honestly call several of you close friends, and the ability to watch the forum grow over the years since I joined back in 2005 has been amazing. Great posters have come and gone, but one thing remains the same... and that is that the Lions Den remains the home to the best posters Footballs Future has to offer.
With that, we end the Award presentation.

I don't know. If he gets banned I expect to get a good laugh out of it. He might repeat by default just due to that.

What can I say, except thank you very much.
The Lions forum is a special place and has a very knowledgable, loyal fan base.
Lions fans are a special breed. They don't know celebration, they simply know dedication. It's great to feel the tables are turning and that dedication will be rewarded with a run of playoff appearances and hopefully a Super Bowl.
Mayhew and Schwartz still have work to doubt I'm sure they know by now that no team has better fans.
