In that he said "Kolb still ahead only one to lead a TD drive"?

Because that drive should have ended on a failed 3rd down that Whis told the officials to give to the O to keep the drive going. Not to mention that Housler was down before the endzone.

Everyone is going to have slight bias in this debate. I would love Skelton to go out and take this battle by the horns and just play great football. Right now neither QB is playing NFL starter quality ball. Even at this stage you expect a QB who is battling for the starting job of your team to not be throwing multiple picks in a scrimmage. You expect him to him open receivers in the endzone and complete more passes than hit the ground.

Right now we don't have a starting calibre NFL QB on the roster. And that does not bode well.

Just had a quick look at the 3 minutes R/W video on AZCardinals.com

Kolb looked to be pushing the ball deep more often, completed one deep pass to Fitz. Also looked like he had a pick dropped by Peterson at one stage.

Can't really make a judgment though.

If they both stink, i am willing to come out of retirement to play for the cards, assuming the money is ok.

Too early to call the battle, after 3 wks in preseason we will know who starts and who doesnt.

Of course, and we need to see both in game situations throwing to the first team receivers with the first team OL in front of them.

I just hate the fact that neither is showing any kind of ability at all right now.

The quote I saw from Jurecki said he thought they were even. Here:

"Pretty even, both have shown flashes, we'll see what they do in the preseason!"

I definitely would not put either guy, Kolb or Skelton, ahead of the other right now. Jurecki also had the following tidbits on a few players:

Cards offense only mustered one offensive TD today… If you take away the goal line period.

>I thought WR MichaelFloyd ran very good routes, nice depth and made some decent catches.

>WR DeMarco Sampson did anice of coming back to ball and snatched a couple of passes.

>A man arrived fromKingman @ 2 am in order to be the first person in the Larry Fitzgerald autograph line (Kingman 2:19 minutes away about 148 miles, that’s a good Dad!

>AJ Jefferson broke up a few pass plays, was running w/ the 3rd team, last year at this time he was starting!

>David Carter has really impressed the coaching staff, playing all 3 positions on the D-line and making plays w/ pressure.

>Jay Feely: kicked 3-3 on FG’s 25, 35 & 42 yds

Injury update:

RB Javarris James (muscle) expected to miss a week or more with abductor muscle injury.

C Ryan Bartholomew (knee) out a few days.

Jeff King (Quad) still rehabbing currently on PUP

Beanie Wells (Knee) still rehabbing currently on PUP

Running Game:

Ryan Williams had the longest play for scrimmage when bounced outside and ripped off an impressive 44-yard run, he was caught from behind and pushed out of bounds at the seven-yard line by Kerry Rhodes… otherwise the Cardinals offense had a hard time running and
moving the football!

The estimated attendance yesterday was 14,500, a franchise record for the Red-White. 10 years ago, our attendance was about 1,400...

From a business point of view, do we charge to attend this game?

Thanks for the updates, hard to keep track of TC stuff here in OZ.

That would be bushleague. Cards probably make a cut from Flagstaff tourism.

But in all honesty it is great for Flag to have that many visit, shop, eat, and stay.

I went on Saturday to the Red-White practice. Unfortunately, a lot of my time was spent away from the scrimmage and with the daughter waiting for a port-o-potty. Not fun.. anyways, I did happen to catch some of the action except when I rejoined the wife over on a blanket on the far field and we couldn't see much of anything.

I did blog about it, azdirtybirds.com (remove this part if need be champ, not trying to take away from the forum, just trying to do a personal blog). Some of it is information already seen.. some is information I tweeted about on my personal Twitter.

Caught a Beanie Wells sighting in there too..

Interesting to note that one name that had generated a lot of buzz was not heard of alot over the past few days and that is Jamell Fleming. Be interesting to see how he shapes up against the Saints.

1st official depth chart is out. Kolb #1, Massie #2 behind Bridges, Housler #2 behind Heap.

Kolb was shoved by David Carter and then seen limping off field today. Said to be in immense pain while being examined by trainers.

Quad contusion according to MJ. Also, Wolfley on the radio said Dan Williams is 314 lbs. Shocked

I don't want to overreact but this guy just can't stay healthy. It's past sad and is just getting annoying.

Not good but yes he does seem to get hurt a bit. at least it is the preseason and we have the extra game.

Anyone find out if it was a freak accident or did Carter go in to hard? I remember a few years ago at one of the night practices, hitting the QB lead to a fight between O and D.
