Can we please put a stop to the discussion of our fellow posters (including disclosing personal information about ourselves that against site rules and, I'll be honest, most don't much care about and will only further poke you about) and back to discussion of the actual trade?

If you have a concern with the way in which another member is replying to you then bring it up to a moderator, please. Belive it or not, our Terms of Service on this site do not grant you "freedom of speech" or Carte Blanche to tell off any person you like, whether you feel offended by something they've said or posted or not.

Why would Hurney even make the trade? I guess to embarrass him enough to maybe want to try and salvage his rep by actually reaching half of what his potential was?

Either way, Its not really a big deal I suppose just cut him when he gets back.

If he could ever recover this could be a great trade for the Jets, but I doubt you should ever count on him as a full time starter.

Yeah, without an ulterior motive like the one above or a "get anything you can before cutting him," it's a poor move.

Just trying to maximize value. Not every team has the same guidelines for passing a physical. There was an off chance that even though he wasn't fit for you guys, he could've passed the Jets physical in which case you would've gotten something for nothing.

I know man but you have to believe Hurney knew about Otahs health and lack of motivation would mean he probably wouldn't pass the test, so he really should have thought that little clause. Laughing

We were sent damaged goods. Not suprising seeing who the sender was.

Confused

And I don't think Otah is committed anymore. Either his injury has effectively ruined his career because a 320+ pound man isn't recovering from chronic knee issues 5 years down the line or he just doesn't care anymore (quite sad in a contract year).

...I don't get it. Mayhaps a Kris Jenkins reference? Confused

Wayne Hunter's plans will not be thwarted. (the plan involves Mark Sanchez dying on the field).

Would have happened either way. Otah would have gone down in a Billy Bob circa Varsity Blues esque topple forward to let Sanchez get whacked. He just can't stay healthy.

He played 23/48 regular season games. That doesn't exactly constitute amazing.

When he was on the field with the Jets, his domination was awe inspiring.
