I think if Reid goes undrafted next year we should give him a shot, but I agree with indifference, it's time we get a starting caliber CB. I'm really starting to like David Amerson.

We can take Xaiver Rhodes instead and forget about Greg Reid. Don't get me wrong, Reid would be perfect fit for a nickel CB in the NFL, I just think this team needs more starting caliber corners on the rosters instead of a bunch of 2's and 3's. Rhodes put the straps Michael Floyd last year, IIRC. My type of guy.

Him or David Amerson would be fine with me but hopefully we wont be picking high enough to get amerson.

Has anyone heard how Barron has been doing?

Him and Ronde sat out today with really minor injures.

From everything I've heard it seems like him and Ronde have built some chemistry back there, heard Barron looks huge and has more range than expected. Ronde and Talib have both heaped some praise on him, saying the guy already gets it and has shown a lot of maturity.

Ronde's 100%

Holder tweeted this...

#Bucs DB Ronde Barber got a bit of a day off in effort to rest his 37-yr old legs. He's not hurt. "Do you know how old I am?" he cracked.

RoeKG,

Its hard for me to really assess Barron. Granted Ive only been to one practice thus far, that being Wed. Him being a S its hard to say he stands out in camp because he really isnt hitting anybody. Once he is allowed to come up and pop some guys at the line and play "real" coverage I will be able to say more. (Hopefully the Saturday Night Practice doesnt get rained out and I can see him scrimmage.)

I will say though that he looks like a vet out there. Just his body language and how he positions himself on plays. Coming up on a blitz to bait Freeman then stepping back to S. Things like that. He just seems to get it and really sells it if you know what I mean. Plus, due to his size, he just looks like a man among boys out there. Very big S. Ill give more updates after practices.

I was at camp today and it was solid. We still have a lot of work to do to be a top tier NFL team. As much as I dont like saying it, it will probably be another year or two until we are making strong playoff runs. Though, I definitely could see us going this year. Schiano is doing a lot right. Good coaching and team unity.

Just some things that happened today.

- Martin fumbled once today. Schiano had a quick conference with him and Byner following the fumble. Blount started taking 1st team reps but then Martin was back in there before too long.

- Jackson dropped a few too many passes he should have caught today. Then again he had a few nice grabs too.

- Mike Williams looked good. He made some nice catches and looked like he knew what he was doing.

- Im confident saying that Underwood is operating as the #3 WR right now. Freeman was his QB in drills and he was in line behind Jackson catching balls. Made some nice grabs.

- Ed Gant looked bad. Dropped too many catchable balls.

- WR coach PJ Fleck is the man. Was sprinting all over the field with the WRs and would come up out of no where behind them and jump on them and try to strip the ball when they were running out the play. He especially picked on Williams. Fun to watch.

- If camp indicates anything then Lavonte David will be good. Very athletic and strong despite his small size. Nice pick today.

Good stuff man that's sweet ur at the camp

Yeah guys! No problem. Ive always wanted to feel like I was at camp even in the past when I couldnt be there so now that I am I thought it would be cool to give some updates to you guys. Being from NC its a pretty penny to be down here but I feel that this is a good time to come with the new regime and big name FAs we signed.

I plan to see 4 practices, that includes the night practice too. Id be at One Buc every day if they allowed us to see every practice.

Here are some camp updates.

Arrow At the end of practice after most people had left, Mark Dominik was over by the fence talking to someone that seemed to be more than just your average fan watching practice. Like he had talked to the guy before. The fan asked him about how Da'Quan Bowers was doing. Dominik replays, "His surgery went great and we expect to have him back by midseason." The fan then asked, "So how is he doing? I notice he really isnt even walking with a limp." Dominik replies, "No, no, he's actually starting to jog. He should be back by the beginning of November."

- Had a few heat related things going on today. McCoy seemed to be having and issue on the sideline toward the middle of practice. Then toward the end a fan yelled out and asked him how he was doing and McCoy looked to the fans and cracked a funny face and nodded yes. Nicks had some trouble with what looked like dehydration toward the end of practice but he should be ok.

- Here is your Mark Barron report. I payed close attention to him today and he looked good when he got most of his reps at the beginning of practice. Honestly he seemed to be controlling parts of the D and calling stuff out. Black is definitely the #3 S and while they were in together Barron would be running up to the line and switching with Black and pointing where assignments were/what the offense was doing I assume. He doesnt have the mic in the helmet but other than that he seemed to be controlling parts of the D. D isnt allowed to hit yet so thats basically what Barron was doing today.

- Though hitting isnt allowed yet there were two big hits today. Schaino went over to the guys and asked them not to hit their own teammates like that I guess. The first one was by Leonard Johnson on Sammie Stroughter. Sammie caught the pass about 15 yards up the sideline and Leonard met him right as he caught it pretty nice pop that Sammie got sideways on. The second was was by, surprise surprise, Myron Lewis on backup RB De'Anthony Curtis. Curtis was running a square in across the middle and caught a good ball by Orlovsky then got nailed by Lewis right in the chest. Curtis was on the ground a bit but then got up and was fine.

- Im confident Orlovsky will win us games if Freeman ever does go down. He looks pretty good for a backup QB. He made a really nice pass/decision when he delivered the ball to Stocker on a rout and Sullivan started cheering and jumping on him.

- Dallas Clark is looking good. Made a nice catch and got some good YAC after in the 2 min. situational football drills Schiano was running at the end of practice. Clark weaved in and out of defenders and would have scored but in order to take up more time ran sideways at the 5 and messed with some defenders before "going down" in bounds.

- Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams continue to impress. Both are making nice catches and looking like they are going to have really nice seasons this year. Finally some good WRs for Freeman. A true #1 and an above average #2 is what its looking like.

- Clayborn is looking like he will get double digit sacks this season. Granted he isnt going against Penn in practice right now but he has made it to Freeman many times in practice and would have sacked Freeman if that was allowed.

- Funny story. I was sitting by a guy that was in the VIP area the other day. He said thats where all the players kids are and stuff. Apparently little LeGarrette Blount was running around and looks just like his dad. I dont remember what the guy said provoked the little guy but he threw a punch at someone else's stuff, playfully but not so much at the same time. He completely cleaned up and Blount's girlfriend (the little guys mom) was really embarrassed. The guy telling the story goes, "like father like son."

This guy reportedly has said Myron Lewis is having a very good camp. This is odd bc every other report has said Lewis has been burned, and picked on the whole week so far. He made one -2 solid plays today.
