Just a breif synopsis of the end of the last thread, Voracek signed a 4 year extension and Shea Weber won't be a Flyer. If I were to guess our lineup looks as follows.

Hartnell // Giroux // Voracek
Schenn // Briere // Simmonds
Fedetanko // Couturier // Read
Rinaldo // Talbot // Wellwood

Timonen // Schenn
Coburn // Grossmann
Meszarros // Gervino, Burdon, Gustaffson, Manning or Lilja

Bryzgalov
Leighton

I've also read that the Flyers best offer for Ryan would be Read, Mez, and picks, but would rather part with Burdon.

I'd do that trade.

I'd do it without Meszy. He's a deal breaker for me.

Read, MAB/Gus, plus a 1st and that's it.

If we can keep Mez, I'd even throw them something a little extra. that would be huge.

H needs to control himself and realize players like him won't get the benefit from the refs. If he can, he's an asset with his physical play and speed.

That hockeyyinsiderr dude just tweeted this.

The #Flyers have offered ON THE TABLE for Bobby Ryan MATT READ+2013 1st+ Laughton+ Meszaros. #CONFIRMED Ball in #NHLDucks court. #WOW

Guy isn't a good source but its still interesting to bring up some discussion.

I personally would hate that deal.

If it were anyone Budon or Gus, I wouldn't hate it. Wasn't really huge on the Laughton pick so its not that upsetting (I wanted one of the defenseman, thought we should have moved up for Ceci or take Matt Finn). A 1st is a lock in any deal for Ryan. Read is basically replaced in the lineup by Ryan and thats an upgrade anyway you look at it. The Mez factor is the question mark.

it seems were also working on an extension for Laviolette.

Not a bad deal, didn't think Laughton would work here anyway.

How would he not work here?

Plus that would make our third pairing TWO of Gus, MAB, Manning, Gervais. That's awful.

Just to upgrade Read? No thanks.

Unless we can get him for Read, a 1st, and one of Gus/MAB (which I don't see Anaheim coming even close to accepting) I say we don't do it. Laughton apparently impressed in camp so I say we stick with what we have. We have cap room so we can make a deal at the deadline if need be.

rumor has it they aren't going to give up any of their forwards but thats what Aneheim wants. Read is likely the guy the Flyers would offer, as he's cheap and a good player.

That said if we were to trade Mez it should be for a Yandle or another defender of that level.
