Pryor's gotta show something on Sunday.
Nick Foles and Jarrett Lee lit it up tonight. 3rd string rookie QBs. Im not saying he has to play as well as them. But he needs to be at least look the part. |

About his first game...I hope this lessens our INT worries a notch. The more I read, the more I think he's not going to throw a massive number of INT's this year. League average seems more reasonable.
And, despite not knowing the playbook or defenses, he still ranked 11th in ESPN"s QBR. That's gotta be telling.
| Quote: | "I threw three (interceptions) in that game that I would've never thrown if I knew they played 'Cover 6' and the corner rolled up on hitches, you know what I mean?" Palmer said.
"There were so many times that I was just pressing and trying to make a play because I wasn't comfortable. That's what I'm doing now, getting comfortable and getting confident within the scheme, within what we're trying to do as an offense, when to take a chance, when not to take a chance and all those things." |

Wow, if I have to hear or read one more time that Mannings INT was tipped I am going to scream. They cant just say he threw a pick they have to say it was tipped or he threw a pick but it was tipped. Geez.
Happens to QB's all the time but for everyone else they just call it a pick.
Thanks for letting me vent. |

His 2nd throw was pretty bad too. Tipped then Tamme made the catch _________________

Question to all you football scholars. I haven't heard a differentiation as to Pryors ability to throw the short ball vs. the long ball. Can he throw the short pass better than the long ball? If so he may be somewhat effective in the WC offense especially with his running ability. I'm sure some will say he can't do either with any precision. Intelligent comments please. |

The main issue is we dont know. The only thing we know is what we last saw out of him in college. He never got a chance to throw yet. We should get a heavy dose of Pryor on Monday night. |

That's the treatment you get as one of the greats. Not to mention, if you don't differentiate, you then have uninformed football fans (I'm not calling either of you one) coming in and saying OH MY GOD MANNING SUCKS. He looked comfortable, but obviously rusty.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to watching the Raiders game. I want to see Jacoby Ford's progression and obviously how Pryor does going forward. _________________

He's looking very good. Mind you, it doesn't look like he's a fast and rising star, but from everything I've read, he looks like a rookie who can hold his own very well and is having a solid camp. But what's most impressive is he's doing this with the first team unit. With Curry resting his knee injury Burris has been playing with the first team all camp.
Right now he looks like a solid contributor with potential to grow into something more. Which, honestly, is much more than I expected from him at this point. _________________ Bah-Weep-Granah-Weep-Nini-Bong

I'm pretty sure I remember McKenzie saying what he wanted in the draft was depth because we lacked it. This year we were strapped for cash and draft picks, and given all that, looking back I am happy with the offseason we had. You can't expect us to make the turnaround all at once. Burris, Bilukidi, Criner and even Bergstrom are guys who most likely wont start at least early on. However, they should all get some action and build solid depth if nothing else going forward. Next year we will have more picks and be able to start finding some starters. _________________

I actually agree with you, however it shouldnt be a distinction held strictly for the greats. I mean, Palmer catches a lot of flack for his interecptions, but last season he had lots of excuses and even in Cincy he had WRs running half___ routes and doing their own thing. On a stat line, an INT is an INT, but only people who actually pay attention and look past stats know whats really going on. _________________
