I sure am. The season tickets arrived last week. I sent some off for the volunteers at Young Detroit Builders.

I'm stoked although I'm not looking forward to all the driving.

I'm also upset I won't get to the Texans game because I will be in San Diego. Evil or Very Mad

I've got 9 tickets to the St. Louis game. That's gonna be pretty fun.

There's a poll for "biggest physical freak" in the NFL comp forum, and Bo Jackson isn't running away with it in a landslide. I feel old.

There are some reasons for that that don't have to do with age. Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson have such a rare combination of size, speed, and leaping ability.

Besides, Bo Jackson played more baseball than football, and this is a football forum.

Bo Jackson ran the fastest official 40 in the history of the NFL combine. He was bigger, faster and stronger than either Moss or CJ. He was a prototypical "power" back, and he just happened to be the fastest player ever.

He was an all-star in two different professional sports.

We're talking about physical prowess only here. Nobody even comes CLOSE to measuring up to BO.

Bo's time was not electronic. They were able to go back on tape or something and prove it much slower.

Bo was much further ahead of his time than CJ, but pound for pound in his prime he would not compete on CJs level. Cj is a far better physical athlete than Bo was and I am older than you Wink

Because they didn't electronically time 40s until 1990.

Who is "they", and do you have proof of this?

How so? Bo was bigger, faster, stronger... and talented enough to play 2 different sports professionally. At an all-star level.

So... CJ and Moss can jump higher? That's the argument here?

Bo was fast, no doubt. But there were ton's of "official" times that were fast. Without electronic timing it means nil. We will never know exactly how fast he was.

Regardless, I don't know where you get your information from. CJ is Bigger, stronger, almost as fast, and players dedicate themselves to one sport these days. Regardless of that, the question is physical gift and CJ is far superior to Bo in that regard.

I just looked up Jackson's recorded 40 time. 4.12? Sweet baby Jesus. That's .12 seconds faster than Chris Johnson's time. Even if it was hand-timed, you'd be pretty hard pressed to screw up by that much, especially because it's not like that's based off of one "official" measurement but rather a collaboration of scouts that all time it themselves.

I wonder how his career would have unfolded if he'd just stuck with football instead of doing the two sport thing.

Hard to say. I think it was CJ2K, but some prospect in the past few years was hand timed 4.08 before the draft. Truth is, we don't know.

Bo was MUCH further ahead of his time, but he would not be more physically gifted than several players today. Advances in workouts ect. have made a huge difference.

Another person that doesn't know what they are talking about.

OSU isn't ranked because they aren't eligible to be ranked. This was already addressed in this thread (and the CFB forum).

Madden 13 QB ratings are out. Stafford is a 91 I think that's about right.
