I'm going to take everybody on a journey building the Stros back up to the power house, they really never were. Don't worry, I plan on simming the first season so I can start fresh. Too bad, the show doesn't switch the Stros to the AL West after the 2012 season. _________________

Breaking news, Houston Astros announce press conference to discuss their future in Major League Baseball.
Welcome one and all, we would like to inform you all that supposed owner, Jim Crane, will no longer be in place to own the Houston Astros. The newcomer is taking over fully ownership of the team. He has decided to mak all the management and personal issues as well. He will take a few questions and make a statement before we close this press conference.
| Quote: | | Thank you, thank you. I am pleased to take over this organization and want to tank everybody who was a part of making my dream come true. The Houston Astros have always been nar and dear to my heart. I couldn't sit by and let them continue to suffer in this decline. Building them back up to a respected and feared team will be my goal. We have many pieces in place already after trading much of our veteran players to build up the farm system. I'll admit, I was concerned about our farm system but we will continue building it up and making players battle for positions. Battling for positons will make all players play to the best of their ability. |
What can we expect in 2012?
It is difficult to say what should be expected, but give these players hope. Continue coming to the park and cheering them on. They will do te best they can. In 2012, all players will be battling it out all season long for spots on the roster. We will be paying close attention at all levels. Players will be mixing in and out throughout the system.
Can you give any confirmation that the Astros will remain in the NL or are they shifting to the AL?
*with a glance at Bud Selig and a chuckle* | Quote: | | I can confirm that the Houston Astros will never be in the AL. They are an NL team and will stay that way as long as I'm in charge here. I helped Mr. Selig realize that if he were to switch teams around, it would make the most sense to move the Brewers back to the AL where they were before moving to the NL Central. I think that was vastly over looked originally. |
Any ideas on players? Who is going to be coming in at the top?
| Quote: | | I'm sorry but it is really difficult to answer that question. Like I metioned before, players will be going all out. It is nice to see the young kids play because they are battling and understanding what it means to play this game. If they aren't having fun out there, they might not be out there long. We are still looking to move certain pieces if other clubs come calling. |
| Quote: | | I want to thank everybody for their time. I will be willing to answer any questions you have as this moves forward. |

Thanks for everybody following so far and for the ones who have looked but not posted yet. Of course, I'm waiting till the trade deadline to start this up. Only a few more hours left. I will sim the first season but I'll keep all transactions around MLB updated with a running list for my post. I'll be starting the 2013 season fresh. _________________

Braves with the World Series win!
And what's with those trades!? That Wheeler / Myers trade by the Mets was just ridiculous. Wow. I don't know why those trades were so bad. I didn't have trades nearly that bad in my Pirates franchise. _________________ Come Follow My Oakland Multi-Sport Franchise! |

Those were only about half the trades. I stopped looking after I saw the Wheeler/Myers one. I got offered 3 Rangers A prospects for Chris Synder and Francisco Cordero. I turned itdown cause that trade would never come close to happening. Too many trades and bad trades otherwise the simming was good. The divisions were so close except the Centrals. _________________

2013 Spring Training Preview
Pitching:
| Quote: | | Coming into this new season, we have players who matured and seem to be ready for their assignments. On this team, nothing is guaranteed. We will have eightteen pitchers battling for twelve roster spots. Being in the NL, we like to carry twelve pichers and thirtteen position players. Here are the pitchers going against each other; Bud Norris, Jordan Lyles, Jarred Cosart, Brett Oberholtzer, Asher Wojechowski, Rudy Owens, Jose Quintana, Kyle Weiland, Christian Friedrich, Rich Harden, Armando Galarraga, Dallas Keuchel, Fernando Abad, Xavier Cedeno, Wilton Lopez, Wesley Wright, Aneury Rodriguez and Jon Rauch. Barring injury of course, all signs are pointing towards a few players who have an edge but adding this many unproven players makes for a much more interestin competition. |
Positions:
| Quote: | Thirtteen spots are available for these players. We like the flexible five bench players. But with one of those being a backup catcher, we look at it as four spots left. Let's break it down by positons battles;
Catchers- Jason Castro, Kelly Shoppach, Chris Wallace
Firstbase- Brett Wallace
Second- Jose Altuve
Third- Chris Nelson, Matt Dominguez, Jimmy Paredes
Short- Marwin Gonzalez, Jed Lowrie
OF- JD Martinez, Justin Maxwell, Travis Buck, Jordan Schafer, Brandon Barnes, JB Shuck, Brian Bogusevic, Ben Francisco, Marc Krauss, Fernando Martinez.
Even though some positions only have one player listed, it is easy to mix and match because some players can play different positions as we see fit and have at one point or another in their early careers. It will be one tough battle to see who can survive the spring training. |
