Rams have agreed to terms in a huge 4 year extension w DE Chris Long.

The 2nd overall pick in the 2008 draft, Long was able to add to his sack total on each of his first 4 seasons in the league and reached a career high 13 last season.

Long is the son of former Raiders Hall Of Fame DE Howie and has played every game in his NFL career, recording 149 tackles and 30.5 sacks.

According to reporter Jay Glazer, Long received a "huge" extension, which probably means he is going to be paid like a top 5 DE, i don't actually think he deserves that type of money but he is developing well and if he keeps on the production of last season he would be.

Great news. Now extend Lariunitus too. The future is looking bright for the Rams. Loaded with young talent.

Very true.

I think Long deserves this deal too. His first 2 seasons he didn't really rack up alot of sacks, but he did seem to pressure the QB alot, which sometimes can do just as much as a sack would on a play.

However, if he signed such a huge deal, why only for over 4 years? He's still got plenty in the tank, and normally DE's don't decline much till like 34.

He deserves it. I think he's going to become a star the next few years. He's close but not there yet.

To be fair, the Rams are loaded with young potential. They need some of their young players to pan out and be consistent contributors before we can say they're loaded with talent

Brockers will command double teams which will help Long too. So will the emergence of DE Quinn. The Rams d-line should be really good.

Long, Quinn, Lariunitus and rookies Brockers and Jenoris Jenkins could all be pro bowl caliber players.

Which is why he is saying it's potential.

Of coarse it is. But I feel pretty good about those 5 players.

Top-5 pass rusher for sure. Rush needs to be worked on, but he's improving. 55 is close to being signed as well, great news.

I agree with Long and Lariunitus. I don't see enough of the Rams to comment on Quinn. The other 2, only time will tell. I do think they are an up and coming team, I think the division will be between Seattle and St. Louis sooner than 49ers fans are expecting.

Top5 4-3 DE maybe - but not a Top5 Pass Rusher.

He's a very good player - consistent - but he doesn't get mention in my Top5 of best young pass rushers.

The Rams were right to lock him up - he's definitely part of the young nucleus on defense they have building. Now if only they can keep the CBs on IR to less than 6 or 7 this year.

They're overrated & not making the Playoffs next season.
8-8 or 9-7 best for Seattle. (& No Playoffs)

Quinn is going to be a monster off the edge. My only concern is his ability to stop the run. He gets up the field so quick and around the edge so fast that he leaves a huge hole to run against. Hopefully Wauffle will help him. Otherwise he may be only a pass rushing specialist.

Awesome for him and the team. He is a class act and deserve what he gets. I'm happy for him. He's one of my favorite non redskins in the league
