If Cena was in the attitude era he would be a jobber or low card wrestlers. Only reason why he is popular is because little kids and women like him. That's why Vince never will turn him heel. At least Jericho is liked as a heel and a face. |
No, he's popular because he was sick nasty on the mic during his rapper phase and then got even more popular when the kids and women started to like him.
Cena debuted in 2002
first won WWE champ gold in 2005.
There were plenty of big time wrestlers in the WWE during that period.
PLENTY. |
Cena gets hated on because he's gotten stale, not because he isn't good. His character needs re-worked. His mic skills are still really good even though he's gotten to the point where he basically says the same things over and over. Cena is also better in ring than he gets credit for. He's booked as this superman guy where he can win any match at any time with the 5 moves of doom. He was much better against Punk because Punk challenges him to be different in the ring. Give Cena some better quality opponents and his in-ring skills do show. He's not the kind of guy who brings up the level of his competition and can have a great match with anyone, but when well paired he brings it just fine.
If the Doctor of Thugnomics came back Cena would become loved by the "real wrestling fans" again. _________________

If you write something, thats what I will think you mean. Why should I try and infer something else out of it?
Ridiculous, IMO. | So, if I say something like the sky is red and it's dusk where I'm at, are you going to take that as I think the sky is red or are you going to "try and infer" that the sun is setting where I'm at causing a red look to the sky?
Not everything has to be written out for someone to grasp what the other is trying to address/describe/whatever word you wanna put here. _________________

His task this year was to get good matches out of Big Show, John Laurinaitis and two dudes who had massive ring rust in Rock and Lesnar
and he did as good a job as anyone not named Punk, Bryan or Ziggler _________________

If you posted "the sky is red"
i'd probably skip over it because i have no idea what context you were trying to put that in, whether or not it was a literary tool or like you said the sun could be setting. _________________

Not everything has to be, as I like to say it and no it's not directed at you, spelled out for a point to be grasped.
Like I said, we're just completely different in regards to our way of going about reading/responding to a post. LIS, I allow for leeway because I understand that not everything can alway be put to words or written the way you intended to. _________________

Grasped? no
for maximum validity? yes.
in logic- there is no leeway. a statement has either T or F for the value of its truth.
And if you cant write it out the way you intend it, either find better words or dont write it at all. _________________

Don't get me wrong Punk did a HELL of a job elevating Cena, but it still takes 2 to tango. _________________

so I guess Cameron got a DUI which probably means she won't be appearing for at least a while, so now any reason for Clay to be on TV is gone. _________________

The problem was not with that match, the problem was that they brought Punk back within a week. Had they held him out until Night of Champions or later, it would have easily been one of the most epic returns ever.
Punk put him on a pedestal, then put Cena on a higher pedestal, but the WWE pushed Punk off his pedestal by bringing him back so early. _________________

HMMM...that's interesting. I read that she got arrest on the 24th, but she was still on Raw this past week. _________________
