Sorta Disagree on the Falcons doing 13-3 but i guess it's possible im feeling more 11-5 with a trip to the nfc championship is a better possibility.
Who knows though anything can happen in the nfl. _________________

The Bengals in the AFC Championship game sounds pretty realistic to me
I think the Browns actually get about 6 wins this year, they will be competitive. I really like Weeden. Hes gonna be a good QB. The Browns will not go winless.
I have a hard time believing Arizona only wins 1 game as well.
But thanks for the compliment to the Bengals, at least you see how good we will be this year _________________

Hope is a great thing.
just because your team got better doesn't mean that your record will. |
Furthermore, just because you think your team got better doesn't mean they actually got better.
The Browns won't go 0-16. AJ Green, Joe Thomas and Trent Richardson are all far too talented to let something like that happen. i'm not a huge fan of Weeden, but he would have to be utterly atrocious for them to be that bad. |
The 2008 0-16 Detroit Lions had WR Calvin Johnson, T Jeff Backus and DE Cliff Avril on the team. They still "let that happen". |
The Browns have WAY more talent than the 2008 Lions did. It's not even close. |
Whatever you say, Dawg! |
Ok, jeebs. Sorry that your reasoning is faulty to say the least.

OH LAWD I JUST REALIZED MY MISTAKE
*sigh*
The Browns still gave up a ton of yards on the ground. And they were fairly pedestrian in take aways and sacks.
Oh man...This is sorta how I feel after saying AJ Green was on the Browns
I'm just full of fail today. |
Like I said, they gave up a lot of yards when teams ran to the outside. Rubin and Taylor were one of the best DT duos last year and the Browns have added more depth through the draft. Like I said before, Rucker was one of the best defensive ends vs. the run last year and is a huge upgrade over Jayme Mitchell, who was easily one of the worst defensive starters in the league last year. They drafted a very athletic and fast LB who should be a big upgrade at WLB.
Another reason they gave up so many yards is because Cleveland's offense couldn't sustain any drives. Therefore, the derfense was constantly on the field and was tired out. Also, opposing teams would get the lead and would just run the ball because they knew Cleveland's offense couldn't come back. Opposing offenses simply needed to run out the clock and they did so by running the ball. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee

I'd probably want to kill myself if Alex Smith wins against Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau in the playoffs. Can't imagine if we make the playoffs we will lay an egg like we did against NYG again.Otherwise I can't complain with this. _________________

That game (like the season opener will be) could be epic. I can see both sides of the coin here. In the end, the homer goggles tilted the result in the 49ers favor. _________________

I like it when people do full season predictions with way more wins then losses. You know, eight teams winning 13 games and only 6 teams with losing records. Although that doesn't seem to be the case here for once. |

The Browns were two botched snaps on field goals from potentially being 6-10 last year. |
They were also a combined 10 POINTS away from being 1-15 last year. See? I can do that pretty easy, too!
| DawgX wrote: | | Their defense was one of the best last year and should only improve. |
Not a chance of regression, eh? If all the Browns can do is improve, I see no reason to believe that any of the other teams they play would regress then either.
| DawgX wrote: | | Their offense can't get any worse and should be better simply with the addition of Richardson. If Weeden has at least a decent rookie year, then the offense should be much better than it was last year. |
See above

Ready?
Eagles > Browns
Benglas > Browns
Bills > Browns
Ravens > Browns
Giants > Browns
Colts = Browns
Chargers > Browns
Cowboys > Browns
Steelers > Browns
Raiders > Browns
Chiefs > Browns
Redskins > Browns
Broncos > Browns
As I already stated, I wasn't terribly comfortable with them going 0-16 but thats the way things ended up working out in my little paper league. Will it happen, doubtfully but it's not impossible. |
It is very difficult to rationalize how you'd come up with the Browns being winless, it seems to lack any rational argument. I will bet you any amount of money you can come up with that this won't happen. _________________ You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser

- Swap the Ravens' and Bengals' records, there's no way the Ravens only win 10 games. Bengals look more like an 8-8 team to me this year.
- Saints are a little low. They're a quality organization, and going 8-8 with that much talent (plus Drew Brees) just seems very unlikely. I'd put the Panthers at 8-8 and then Saints at 9-7, which still feels too low. I'd ideally have the Saints at 10-6, but I don't have the time to go game by game and balance it all out
- I like the Lions placement just because their secondary isn't good and with the addition of Brandon Marshall on the Bears, they know have 4 divisional games against two unbelievable wide receivers that we all know no one on their defense can cover. That could be 4 losses just in their own division.
- Titans aren't getting enough love. They played some great football last season and nearly made the playoffs.
- The Texans are a great football team, but I think people are crowning them divisional champs a bit prematurely. Yes, they didn't have Schaub for much of last year, or AJ, but I believe the Titans could very well challenge them for it.
Those are my thoughts, but hey, they're your predictions, so take these at face value |
The Bears are still going to have a hard time stopping the Lions passing offense. At worst the Lions will split. _________________

I'll have to go back and check my completed season schedule to see if I had them split. I cannot recall of the top of my head. _________________

it was more in response to that guy's point about the Bears being tough to stop with marshall. _________________

Well, we are a quarter of the way through the season. Seems like a perfect time to see how crappy I'm doing with my preseason predictions.
Some of my predictions are looking pretty darn good (Falcons, Texans, Jets, Lions, and the Browns). Most are still in the 'realm of possibility' area. Although, the Vikings are pretty close to blowing my prediction for them out of the water. After receiving some minor e-hate about having the Saints at 8-8, its looking like I may have overestimated them. My biggest miss - the Arizona Cardinals.
On the left are my preseason predictions and to the right are the current standings. Tie breakers haven't necessarily been figured in to divisional standings.
