Very excited to now be covering the Ravens for The Baltimore Sun. Thank you to everyone at the Carroll County Times for a great 11 years.

He will finally get the recognition he so richly deserves, he has flown under the radar long enough while working for the Carroll County Times. No more games Mike Preston, a real writer is coming on board Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Do you think that training camp no longer being in Westminster has something to do with this move?

EDIT - Bolded because I agree with that statement.

Wilson is great. He's tends to focus much more on reporting facts than his own opinions but I like that. It doesn't hurt that he's very good at reporting the facts either.

It's possible that the training camp move may be part of it, Aaron also deserves the promotion.

Oh absolutely deserving. I just always kind of thought that the sports reporter at the Carroll County Times was relevant for that reason (i feel like you see/saw more of his reports on ESPN regarding the Ravens than anyone with the Sun).

I use to think that too, he will now get more recognition and it will be more easier for me to ignore Mike Preston. Aaron just reports the news good or bad and when he does give his opinion he doesn't take cheap shots at anyone.

Definitely deserves it. Though, wouldn't doubt if he quickly moves on to even bigger things. The dude is good.

I agree, I'm surprised it took this long for him to get to the Sun. He should be working for ESPN instead of Jamison Hensley.

Thats great, Aaron is one of the best in the business. Like c0 said, he really does a nice job of sticking to the facts without watering it down with his personal opinions. The Sun will be a lot more tolerable now, although their online subscription is infuriating.

Aaron Wilson is definitely the best local reporter on the Ravens, hands down. I will miss reading his articles. Since The Sun's website started charging to read articles, I stopped going there.

This was my thoughts on the move. Wilson is awesome at what he does (and it doesn't hurt that he shares my last name) so I love that he's getting recognition with going to a bigger paper... but that being said, the whole charging for articles thing probably means I'll be reading less of his articles now.

But the Sun probably understands most people won't pay for online content and so bringing in Wilson is probably them trying to increase the quality of their content to hopefully expand their list of paying customers. I mean really, who's going to pay to read Mike Preston?
