This is where you go astray, lose credibility and become annoying, MBTL.

"....really nice...." ≠ "great".

Words have precise meanings.

Ok, I will play your "deal with" the fact that I twist what was said to suit my purposes, and shift gears within debates to evade having to admit that I am wrong, and everyone should be honored to continue conversing with me because, well, I am MBTL, and I'm never wrong game!

Banner way > Holmgren as a businessman, NFL team administrator. Regardless of how one judges it, Holmgren's "success" has been as a coach, not as a team President or whatever you want to call the head honcho.

Re Heckert: Why not? Jury is still out as to how good Heckert's player acquisition has been. This season will be the proof in the pudding. And, they might have someone better (in their minds) in mind regardless of the jury verdict...someone they feel is more "their guy". What possibly could be wrong with that?

The fact that they most likely wont find anyone better than tom heckert?

Btw Banner's success has come off of some of the same decisions that Holmgren made

both Holmgren and Banner hired Andy Reid, Tom Heckert, Pat Shurmur at points in their career- Tom Heckert actually held the same position under both people

also, Banner has never made football decisions. Great. Banner is awesome at raising Beer Prices. We're already a super valuable franchise. We have a great stadium. What else can Banner do for us as a fan? Not much. He doesn't make picks.

MBTL, you do realize haslam wont own the team until october. Hes not going to go to his first press conference and rip what isnt his yet. He may like our front office, he may have already lined up his guys to start in october. Whatever he decides wont make him a liar. It makes him a professional. Obviously he learned some politics from his brother.

I have read he is a cap wizard so if all he does is put up beer prices and do a great job with the cap then that's fine with me and Heckert can keep doing what he does as well as almost anyone else.

He could be in before that. There is talk that the NFL might call a special meeting to aprove it sooner. Also I know Randy is not meant to sell for ten years but I don't think he is worried about a couple of months.

Listening to Goodell on the radio today on ESPN made me feel that it's going to be sooner than October. He said he will absolutely call a special meeting if everything clears (it surely will) soon enough before October.

Yeah I heard it could be done before the regular season starts.

I don't think the owners have to get together at the same place to meet. I would assume it can be done by a video hook up or something like that.

That's not politicking and being deceitful, it's called being a smart businessman....You don't tip your hand and cause distractions to your product that you just heavily invested in. You be discreet, choose your words carefully, carry yourself in a professional manner, and act when the time is right.

Holmgren has always rubbed my as a used car salesman who glad-hands you with his right while flipping you off with his left.

No it really doesn't. You don't tip your hand in anyway about the draft including to your own players.
