Does it demoralize our D and hurt their confidence or does it help them by practicing against the best.

I fear that Shields/House/Heyward/Jennings are getting burned on a daily basis and becoming timid, or maybe altering their play to accommodate playing vs him and starting to take risks because he will pick you apart if play conservative, and if you get a pick versus him you feel like a God.

Thoughts??

We should bring Brett back to play vs our D so they can feel good about themselves again.

ARod, Throw the young guys a bone once in a while, we'll all know why...

if our defense can ever contain Rodgers in practice then that means they should just give us the lombardi trophy before the season starts

Absolutely not. It just forces them to be near perfect because he can manipulate mistakes.

If anything I would say it should help them. Not to be smug but literally no other guy they will have to compete against will be able to do the things Rodgers can do. I'm not going too say practicing against our offense should make other offenses look easy to contain, but I will say it helps to see what they have against top quality so often.

I think that sometimes. I'd say that maybe they need to have periods where it's designed for the defense to run it's new stuff and then the offense to run theirs.

They used to. They really can't anymore. No two-a-days and a very limited number of padded practice makes every snap count too much.

It will only make covering some scrubs with an average qb that much easier. I'm sure the confidence takes a hit, but these guys have to understand their job and that's not an easy one to do! It makes them better and that's all I care about

Anything or anybody that forces you to be at your best - or forces you to work to the next level is the ultimate teaching tool.

If the DB coach tells you to get your head around and you don't - only to see Rodgers zip one passed your earhhole for a touchdown - only helps to reinforce the right way to do things.

We could always bring back Tim Couch if we need a morale boost Smile

They know how ruthlessly efficient our offense is. They realize it's a practice setting and they're limited with what they can do. Confidence won't be an issue and can't be an issue in the NFL.

I bet your kids hate it when you beat them 1 on 1 21-0 until they get 4' tall

Anyways this whole thread was kinda a joke.. but it would be depressing being a DB, it would be like being Tysons sparring partner back in the late 80's.

But I could see a scenario where a DB tries to jump a route only to have AR pump fake and throw the fly route for a TD, but 7/10 QBs would have thrown that out or slant for a pick 6, but now the DB doesn't want to try to jump routes anymore, hence we lose out on defensive TD's.

Ask yourself this.. Did the Washington Generals ever get better playing the Globe Trotters?

Or would Nigeria get better playing Team USA everyday.

Playing the best makes you worse? That's a new one for me.

Would you become a better fighter by going in the ring vs anderson silva once a day. Seems like youd rac up a huge ER bill to me. IMO youd slowly get worse healing from broken bones and concussions. I know this has nothing to do w/ the Pack, but it is a scenario to prove going against the best wouldn't necessarily make you better.
