| With Keith Brooking on the team, Peyton Manning is no longer the oldest player. Both are now 36 but Brooking is a few months older -- October 30th, 1975 vs March 24th, 1976. |

Brooking is said he has been brought in to play a bit of MLB and a bit of WLB. I guess our Coaches aren't liking what they have seen from Mohamed as our 2nd string MLB. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD

Reports were saying that Mohammed and Irving had just recently switched positions this past week. I think its a little too early to tell what they think of them. I stand by the premise that Brooking was brought in to push the young guys. Complacency is detrimental to a team. _________________

Terrible signing. I can justify the Leohnard addition but Keith Brooking is worthless. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

At least Brooking isn't on the PUP yet. |

Seriously... How do the Broncos sign a guy to put him on the PUP? _________________

They think once he's healthy he'll help the team and until then he doesnt count against the roster. _________________

I understand the process. It was a rhetorical question.
How do you justify a signing when you put him on the PUP right away? Why not just wait till hes healthy then sign him? _________________

I still don't get it. It's just too funny. I've been following this sport for a long time and have never heard of that.
Most often it's "signing terminated because player could not pass physical".
Oh well, ya learn something new every day. |

So other teams don't sign him? It isn't that strange of a concept. The Bills made Leonhard an offer too, so if we waited until he was healthy to practice, he wouldn't be a Bronco. _________________ 20 TIMES, 20 TIMES MAN UNITTTTTEEDDD

Get him a playbook now and talking to young safetys. This guy is a good role model and can help them w/ off the field things. its definitely better to have him under contract and learning the defense than having to wait. Also you dont want someone else to come in and sign him. There isnt an advantage to really waiting except you might lose a bit of money. _________________

I hear what both you and lomax say on the issue, but I've got to disagree.
The role model reason is way overdone. How many savvy veterans do our young safeties need? Bailey, Florence, Adams, Dawkins last year? All better and older than Leonhard.
Maybe the Bills did offer him a contract but why would we think it's anything other than a standard "pass the physical" offer?
The only reason I can see us signing him, even when he can't pass a physical is our safeties are so ungodly horrible that we can't take even the slightest chance of allowing an undersized average safety to get away. That to me is a scary thought. |

So you sign a guy (that isnt very good in the first place) to sit on the PUP, not practice, waste a roster spot but just to keep him away from another team? Hmmmm... _________________
