I really think we are going to play a lot of home games against 'lesser' opposition this year with Valencia at RB and Nani at RW.

Or Smalling when Valencia needs a rest. I'd imagine we'll see a lot of Welbeck, Chicharito, Evans, and Giggs in those games as well

Rennes have received "a concrete offer from England" for defensive midfielder, Yann M'Vila, their coach revealed after their match today. He's expected to move before the end of the window.

No one knows the team, but Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all among speculation.

Also rumored Arsene Wenger wants Tello as part of a deal which would see Alex Song go to Barcelona (which, if true, probably means M'Vila would be coming in) I'm probably in the minority but I'd be thrilled if something like that happened. If Jack comes back healthy we'll have too much creativity in midfield for Song to giving away loose passes and being in poor defensive positions as a holding mid.

Honestly, I'd swap Song for M'Vila. We need some steel in midfield. Between Cazorla, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey and Rosicky, we have enough creativity. Don't see the point of Tello though.

Sky Sports reporting that City have agreed a fee with Everton for Jack Rodwell. I have made my feelings pretty clear on Rodwell; texans_uk and myself don't really agree on him as a player.

To me, he is all potential right now. Great athlete, can ping a football. But he can't stay healthy, he doesn't have good enough positional awareness to play CM in a 4-4-2 right now and truth be told, I think he has regressed since I saw him 2 years ago.

Rodwell to City is pretty baffling to me, I guess he was just the back up option if they couldn't get De Rossi.

What a stupid move for them both. Rodwell won't get played and will watch his career suffer as he never plays for the next 2 years before going back to Everton or another small club

I guess he'd take De Jong's spot. Hmm, don't know how I feel about it.

I'd feel bad, it's a downgrade.

Woot woot. Looks like we'll finally get our first big signing of the window.

Gives us some tactical versatility as a CM for the 4-3-3 which worked well late last season and he can play full back too.

The only thing City need is a backup CB. Rodwell is a complete luxury, and especially for 15m.

Can't Rodwell play CB as well???

Honestly I don't really get the signing. Rodwell is not City quality yet. He is a very injury prone player as well.

He has in the past, he's got the size, but they could have gotten Jagielka for 15m, and he'd be perfect for a backup.
