I wish people knew more things sometimes. Since Falcao was 9 years old (1996/1997 season) Chelsea's absolute worse finish was 6th place (on 4 occasions, 96/97, 00/01, 01/02, and this year) I'd hardly call that a mediocre mid table team.
Before everyone jumps in a gives all the credit to Abramovic...
FA cup champs in 96/97 and 99/00
Community Shield in 2000
UEFA Cup winners in 97/98
Super Cup winners in 98
Chelsea league finishes starting with the 1996 season? (Before Roman)
6th
4th
3rd
5th
6th
6th
4th
Medicore mid table team my [inappropriate/removed].
As far as Falcao goes however I doubt there is any truth to the rumors about him growing up a Chelsea fan or that he wants to go to Madrid for that matter. There is no way Atleti would let a city rival come in and take their best player. That's where Chelsea (regardless of whether he's a fan or not) Man City, and PSG should come in. _________________

Touche. I was getting a dig in. I knew they were a respectable team in terms of position in the 90's but didn't realize they won that healthy of an amount of trophies. _________________

Yeah, I'm not gonna put stock in anything his dad says. Two days ago he's always dreamed of playing for Chelsea and now two days later he's always dreamed of playing for Madrid.
Like...ok. _________________

I've learned not to listen to Dad's in transfer dealings..
Bob van Persie "Robin wouldn't go to another club in England"
Bob Bendtner (made up first name): My son and I are in talks for a permanent move with some of the biggest clubs in Europe [goes on loan & Juve tells him he's fat/can't start yet] _________________

It's basically the FA Cup twice and the UEFA Cup once, as the Super Cup and Community Shield are glorified exhibitions. It's better than nothing of course, but you sound like Kenny Daiglish if you really try to get too excited about those kinds of side competitions. _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |

I guess opinion about the Manchesters is hardly worth voicing at this point. We'll just sit off to the side. _________________

I actually deleted that comment that Philly quoted pretty soon after posting it because I decided it was too snarky, but I guess he caught it before it was zapped off the intertubes. Though I suppose I'll stand by the principle of that comment.
And my avy is the Daytrotter portrait of the Tallest Man on Earth (who were actually talking about in TARFT the other day). _________________ "The really important kind of freedom involves attention, and awareness, and discipline, and effort, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them, over and over, in myriad petty little unsexy ways, every day.” |
