Awesome, nice having the best Guard tandem in the league locked up for at least the next 5 years. Congrats to TJ, definitely deserves a nice payday. _________________

Love this one! Lang's game is going to age very well.
Was hoping TT would pull that trigger. Would have been easy for him to let Lang test the market with a extra like Newhouse/Sherrod on the roster. Would have been a strong market for Lang though and I for one like him inside a good bit more than both Newhouse or Sherrod.
Strokes for TT...... _________________

heard it was 4 years, 65 million with 38 guaranteed.
Actually, no I didn't hear that I made it up but I bet we would think twice about saying "love it" were that the case.
While I think lang long term is great in principle I also don't believe in jumping to conclusions before I know the #s. Every person we sign from here on out hurts the chances that jennings/raji/matthews etc don't get enough money from us to stay. And with the Rodgers bargain as the giant elephant in the room nothing is clear right now with our core talent and the next 2-3 years. _________________

| I'm in favor of keeping Lang and Sitton together, just to listen to them banter on Twitter. |

didn't see this happening this soon!
But i'm very happy with this extension. Keeping our interior together is good for Aaron. One of the better young guard tandems in the league. I approve! |

Jennings, Goode, Driver.
The other two notable guys from the 2009 Draft (Clay&Raji) have another year. Clay-Raji-Lang. You take those three in a draft all day. _________________

I know that I am thinking in far left field here but I wonder if these means that a LT is the early draft for the Pack again. Why would TT sign both guards on a passing all of the time team? I know that they are great pass blockers but I think the signing was more about the end of the season if Sherrod is not good to go and Saturday is done and Newhouse is just a really great rotation guy. In otherwise sign Lang so one less olineman to worry about drafting. But I haven't gotten a lot of sleep, so maybe I'm just thinking way too left field... _________________

You can usually figure this out from how the agent behaves, even without having numbers.
When the player signs a contract that's a great deal for the player and involves huge numbers, the agent is always up front and center touting the dollar figure.
When the player signs a contract that's really in the favor of the team, the agent usually says nothing, like he's hiding from the contract his client made him sign.
When the player signs a contract that is fair for both player and team, the agent usually says something like "Congratulations to [player] for signing a [number] year contract with [team]."
The exact tweet that Lang's agent made announcing the deal:
| Quote: | | Congrats to @TJLang70 for agreeing to a 4 year extension with the Green Bay Packers! #GoPackGo @packers |
So I don't think anybody took anybody else to the cleaners here. |

HOLY COW!! I never thought about that before. You're right!! So many deals just kept popping in my head right now. Nice Post, reminds me why I still come on here. Maybe I am freaking out a little too much, but in all my years of football, thought never occured to me, and maybe I really need to get some sleep. _________________
