Brian Polian has come back to ND as our new ST coach. When he was on Weis' staff, he was arguably our best recruiter. Also hired Mike Elko from Wake Forest as our DC. Paul Longo is out as S&C coach.

Any rumors about who Kelly is looking at to be the new OC?

Not as of yet. I do think Brian Kelly himself will go back to calling plays next year regardless of who gets the OC title.

New hires:

DC - Mike Elko, Wake Forest
LB (likely) - Clark Lea, Wake Forest
ST - Brian Polian, former Nevada HC
TE (likely) - Jeff Quinn, current offensive analyst and former Buffalo HC

Out:

S&C coach Paul Longo

Other potential staff changes:

- If we bring on Clark Lea at LB, either Mike Elston (current LB coach) or Keith Gilmore (current DL coach) is likely out.

As if he wasn't already calling the plays.

I was under the impression that he spent more time on the defensive side after van Gorder was fired and thus, someone else (Sanford I think) was calling plays for most of this past year.

Y'all have anything about Corey Holmes for me?

I know he's considering going to Miami and we have a huge need for speed at WR. However it doesn't seem like he's done much in his ND career.

Doesn't look suspicious at all.

If ND loses the appeal of the vacated wins I think Brian Kelly should be forced out. Typically coaches who are involved in NCAA violations are let go.

Just hired Chip Long from Memphis to become the OC. Replaces Mike Sanford, who is now HC at Western Kentucky. It probably also has to do with Mike Denbrock (WR coach) leaving to take the OC position at Cincinnati.

Memphis has had some pretty good offenses recently, maybe he can do well with the talent on the offense (thinking primarily about Wimbush here).

Bad news. Penguins won the Stanley Cup. Each of our last two non-bowl seasons have come following Penguins Cup wins. Looks like we're sentenced to another non-bowl season.

At least we'll get Kelly's firing out of it.
