As expected, Centre Kyle Cook was placed on the 'IR-Recall' list Tuesday, being replaced by ex-Bronco and Redskin TE Richard Quinn.
The opening day '53' now appears to be......
QB (2)-Dalton/ Gradkowski
RB (5)-BJGE/ Leonard/ Peerman/ Pressley/ Scott
WR (7)-Binns/ Green/ Hawkins/ Jones/ Sanu/ Tate/ Whalen
TE (4)-Charles/ Gresham/ Lee/ Quinn
OL (8)-Boling/ Collins/ Faine/ Robinson/ Roland/ Smith/ Whitworth/ Zeitler.
DL (8)-Anderson/ Atkins/ Dunlap/ Geathers/ Johnson/ Peko/ Still/ Thompson.
LB (6)-Burfict/ Howard/ Lawson/ Maualuga/ Rey/ Skuta
DB (10)-Allen/ Clements/ Hall/ Iloka/ Jones/ Kirkpatrick/ Mays/ Miles/ Nelson/ Newman.
ST's (3)-Harris/ Huber/ Nugent
plus 8 x PSq-OT Adams/ RB Brooks/ TE Davis/ CB Harris-Lewis/ RB Herron/OG Hudson/ LB Lamur/ QB Z.Robinson.
I suppose the most debateable elements of the roster is having 7 x WR, and only going with 8 x OL on the 53, but with 2 OL on the PSq. When was the last year this happened ?
Another interesting thing about the OL, is all 8 guys have played Guard.......
I guess they think the 7th WR is a better guy than the 9th OL....... _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. I don't quite understand the Quinn move. I guess we'll find out Monday, but i expect him to be inactive every Sunday unless Gresham and Lee are both hurt.
Oh well. The 53rd player wasn't likely to make an impact anyways. _________________

The seventh WR is a better player than the 9th OL or even Muckelroy, I guess. Plus, the bottom 6 WRs contribute on special teams in many ways, making them more dimensional. Whalen won't dress for a lot of games I would think. _________________

Anyone think the 7th WR is there as 'trade bait'? If someone offers a top-100 draft pick next year for Brandon Tate; (nominally a #2 WR); for example, are they gonna turn it down ?
Looking down the NFL rosters there are some teams that look a little thin at WR. _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. I thought about that, and it could happen. Just not yet. With the extended trade deadline, things could always happen. _________________

Muckleroy not being snapped up by another team is a little surprising, given his decent showing in pre-season. Maybe the other 31 teams know something we don't, like a NFL suspension coming prehaps ? _________________ " I imagine that in Paul McCartneys' house, he must have a shelf with the 12+ great 'Beatles' studio albums neatly stacked. Not really. Dude only plays RG, and we need versatile OLs. _________________
