Why would we want a Doom 2.0? |

If Babin clears waivers all the way to us (and our waiver priority is what, 25th?) I wouldn't bet against Elway signing him.
Elway has said, several times, "You can't have enough pass rushers."

Dumervil's average, over his career (including times he hasn't been 100% and after week 6 2009 when Mac told Nolan to stop blitzing) is 0.59 sacks/game. That's elite production; having a "Dumervil 2.0" would be a good thing for this team.
FYI, over the last 3 years, Babin has averaged .83 sacks/game. That's better production than anyone on the Broncos except for Von who averages 0.98 sacks/game.
He won't make waivers all the way to us but if he does and Elway passes on him, I will be severely disappointed. _________________ big_palooka:

Babin is just flat out not good. This year he hasn't even impressed in the one area he's supposed to be a specialist, in the one system he's effective in. Trash. No thanks.
Fans really overvalue sacks. |

Lol what? QB pressure is like #1 priority in the league and it has been for several years now, get it through your skull. The entire Eagle's defense blows. They are far too soft in the secondary and the front 7 is always playing so damn spread out and the linebackers aren't all Brian Urlacher's. Babin can play a really nice defensive end though. Great in run support and solid tackler and provides a nice pass rush also. He'd fit nice in our system I would think. And he'd allow us to move Wolfe inside. Starting Doom and Babin with Malik and Ayers as backups sounds pretty sweet to me. I hope he makes it to us and we pick him up. |

Jason Babin usually rushes Right Tackles and anyway he's purely a leverage type of player who sucks against the run. He's like a faster, shorter armed Dumervil. I don't want him. _________________ Stop slobbering over Brian Dawkins |

"Get it through your skull"? LOL.
Babin can't play a really nice anything. He's a one-dimensional player who isn't succeeding in that one dimension this year. Glad we didn't get the opportunity to waste our time with him. |

Also, were we planning on incorporating that awful wide 9 scheme if we signed him? Aka the only scheme he's ever had any measure of success in? |

Doubt it. He's a veteran DE that had 18 sacks last year. I feel like we could have found a way to use him. But if you guys still think he'd be terrible against the run even in a 4-3 and not that "wide 9" then he wouldn't help us. Does matter now though anyways. |
