Also, keep in mind; 53.9% (54%) of teams who win in Week 1 make the playoffs. Whether we do it by a touchdown or not is irrelevant; we just need to win the game. I don't know about everyone else but I'm pretty worried about this game. Tampa is going to come at us hard and I'm deathly afraid of Freeman at QB and Martin at HB (Jackson/Williams don't really scare me at receiver in their system). So I just want to walk out with the dub. How people perceive us as a team doesn't matter to me and at the end of the day, people will either like Newton or dislike Newton. I don't think 1 game is going to change how they view him and with that, isn't going to change how they view us as a team.

For me, this game will decide if we make the playoffs or not. If we win, we're still very well in the hunt. If we lose, I'm becoming extremely doubtful. Our schedule is just too hard not to win the games against an opponent like Tampa (who, don't get me wrong, is a quality team and very well could beat us - but they aren't New Orleans, Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Philadelphia, etc. Take the wins you need to get).

You're not alone, IKC, I am afraid of this game.
I have heard it is pouring in Tampa, really hope the field isn't awful.

Also, J-Stew isn't playing....

There is a 50% chance it'll be raining for the rest of the day down there in Tampa.

It'd be awesome to have Stewart in there to grind out the yards but Williams and Tolbert should do in what I hope is a run first, pass second gameplan. Nothing against Newton. But like I said before, this isn't a game where we should be looking to get fancy. We can score on Tampa by simply running the rock and capitalizing with play-action.
